The shop smelled great, the staff was really nice, and I loved the fact you can peer into their clean kitchen and see the bagel magic. Bagel Hero didnt have much selection, they only served basic bagels options and didn’t have any flats. Decent seed ratio on this bagel, nice amount of tasty cc, lacked natural toast, didnt carry much flavor, was very chewy and was on the smaller side. They have been one of the most recommended shops to go to and I must admit, my expectations were high walking in due to the strong reputation I have received from The Bagel Review readers. This everything bagel was really tasty despite not having a crazy high seed ratio and you can taste the bagel craftsmanship in each bite, it was really soft, fresh, and masterly hand-rolled. The bagel profile was unique here, it was large, very doughy, and lacked natural toast flavor however it had its own unique charm, reminiscent of a ballpark pretzel but in the best way possible. This shop is located right next to the high school so they definitely keep busy not only serving bagels but they also had a large selection of sandwiches and heroes for the Baldwin locals. This was the nicest, biggest, and most impressive bagel establishment I have been in and it was filled with carb loving locals! @broadwaygourmet certainly knows what there doing when it comes to bagels as they have been handrolling em’ since 1992. The bagels here were elite, the natural toast and taste was off the charts. The seed ratio was the only thing that could have been a bit better but overall @broadwaygourmet stands at the highest tier of Long Island bagels and quite honestly a top bagel in the U.S. Not only were the bagels delicious but they ran like a well oiled machine. I had never seen an Everything Bagel disguised as an Onion Bagel in my life but it certainly was lacking all of the seeds other than the onion crisps. With that being said, it was a good onion bagel with really nice natural toast to it and tasty onion crisps. It needs to be stated that @bageltownny is very unique because they cater to the sesame and nut free community and hence, there bagels lack some key seeds for an everything. However, they have perfected the use of onion, garlic, and poppy.
