On Saturday we took a stroll in our local village. Discovered a Christmas fair hosted by @thecliftonclub supporting @marmalade_trust. The building is a wonderous place to be in the festive season (swipe to see). In fact the 50ft Christmas tree at the centre of our village is right outside the window. It is our first Christmas spirit! . We were amazed by lots of unique gifts made by our local artists. Those Christmas fairies @florialice.uk is my favourite. Each of them is handmade with luxurious silks and embellishments. Can you imagine their wings are from real ostrich feather?！ . This boy had his eyes on a potted hyacinth bulb. We are now waiting for it to blossom on Christmas Day. The lady who made it is a commercial florist. Her business is called Bluebells and Buttercups. She is not on Instagram. In fact it gave her stress. People used to show her perfect photos and expected her to make the same without realising it could be a £2000 project or not even real but edited. It is very interesting hearing this. I wonder what's your experience/thought on this? . . . P.S. Their library has put some of books by black authors and illustrators on display to celebrate black voices and representation. . Last weekend we discovered The World Reimagined trail. Ten stunning hand-painted globes were gathered on College Green exploring themes ranging from Mother Africa to Still We Rise and Expanding Soul. How can it be easy? I remember last time (6 years ago) reading the book: Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect, and Communicate with Your Baby by Tracy Hogg and Melinda Blau. They recommend E.A.S.Y. routine: Eat, Activity, Sleep, You (do something for yourself). I have to say I struggled with "you time" for a while. How can you do anything if your baby wouldn't let you put them down? I couldn't find a sling for small size (even with Ergobaby's newborn insert it was still too big), and I was hopeless with fabric wrap. . This time I am so pleased to find Ergobaby Embrace Baby Carrier @ergobabyuk which you can use from birth. It means when baby is sleeping, I can have both hands free! so, I am back on sewing! This must be mum's intuition. Last week I had a feeling that we needed a day to celebrate, therefore we did a lot things together. Apparently that was the last day we were only 2 of us. Later at night his baby brother came out. . Do you want to know about the birth? Last time it took about 50 hours contraction, 20 hours labour. I expected 2nd one to be quicker, but how quick can it be? Everything happened within 2 hours: only 10 contractions (every 5min), water broke...an emergency home birth! Ambulance couldn't arrive before baby was born. While my doula was on her way, my friend (who is also a doula) ran to get here first. They then helped together while paramedic and midwife were on the phone...Ambulance took me to hospital afterwards due to blood loss...Now we are back home. 3 of us🥰 . And you wonder what this big brother was doing that night? He was woken up by the noise (of course). I decided not let him attend the scene. All the time he stayed in his bedroom asking questions, e.g. how many paramedics are in our house? He was looking forward to going to friend's house, and rather more excited about mummy being taken by ambulance😂 . Happy children and lovely friends who look after you and your children, what else can I wish for?! . Thank you @doula_helena @doula_tash I couldn't do it without you. I have used Doula for both pregnancy. It was really reassuring when they were there. . . . P.S. I have to say I'm very impressed when a 5 years old girl said this. Her parents really bring her up as the kindest person, and they are hoping to host refugees. I feel ashamed as sometimes I wish they didn't have to know about war or any horrible things, but live in bubble. I mean if we could make our world a better place for their generation. Apparently, this girl saw a unicorn helium balloon at a festival, but she was not allowed because they were not environmental friendly. I do hope she can find an eco friendly one and all her wishes will come true! . . .
