Zaxxon The objective of the game is to hit as many targets as possible without being shot down or running out of fuel—which can be replenished by blowing up fuel drums (that's 300 points). There are two fortresses to fly through, with an outer space segment between them. At the end of the second fortress is a boss in the form of the Zaxxon robot. The game is controlled by a four-directional joystick. On arcade cabinets this is an aircraft-type stick with a molded hand grip. Pushing forward makes the player's aircraft lower in altitude and pulling back makes it rise. The aircraft cannot move forward or backward; it flies at constant speed. He heads to Earth, beams Taz up into his flying saucer, and takes Taz to his Martian zoo. Meanwhile, Taz escapes. Taz jumps, spins, flips switches and picks up items. By spinning and colliding with an enemy, Taz can defeat his enemies and dig into the ground. Taz starts with 12 hit points. If he touches an enemy when not spinning, he loses one hit point. Some enemies, like the fly or armored soldier (in the haunted castle world), cannot be defeated by the spin, but only by rocks or the flame. Others, like Yosemite Sam, cannot be defeated at all. Unlike previous games, the "technique" magic system plays a somewhat diminished role in combat. New features in the combat system include the auto-battle feature and the icon-based menu system. The feature that mostly separates Phantasy Star III, however, is that the story spans three generations of characters. At critical points throughout the game, the main character is given the option of marrying one of two women he has encountered during his travels. This choice determines the new main character of the next generation—the child (or children) of the previous lead. The choice also affects the gameplay, as the main character may be Orakian or a mix of Layan and Orakian, which differ in their ability to use techniques and their level of proficiency with them. Most levels contain a flag, which is the primary goal of each level, from which the player progresses to the next level. However, a number of teleporters throughout the game can warp the player not only to different places in the same level, but also to different levels, and sometimes to an entirely different path through the game. At the end of the game, Kid fights and defeats the final boss, Heady Metal. This game contains 103 levels, of which only about half are on the "main path" (traversing levels only by flags). Thirty-two of these 103 levels are smaller, unnamed levels simply called "Elsewhere". Despite the game's considerable length, there is no password system or other method of saving the game. Released exclusively in Australia during 2000 to celebrate the release of Pokemon Snap for the Aussie audience is the “Pokemaniac N64”. This console was exclusively made for that country only and is quite a collectors piece to have. It included the console, exclusive controller, and a VHS tape of the first episode of the show. Since this was a PAL exclusive, it was a very limited release. I swapped a NTSC motherboard and put it inside the console to make it useable. The other Pokemon special editions are based off Pikachu while this one features your gen 1 stables AND Poliwhirl. What’s he doing? His best, that’s what. The artwork is actually etched into the plastic and are not simple stickers like originally I thought. This is harder to find, but not impossible to get. The easy way I found was to go on Ebay AU and search for it. Most sellers do not have international shipping set up, so when you see one, ask nicely. Here's my #musicmonday post of... Band: Guster Title: Satellite EP Label: Reprise Records Tracks: 8 Satellite EP is the fifth EP by the rock band Guster. It was released on 10 April 2007. It is Guster's third EP with the musician Joe Pisapia. This EP includes both live recordings and songs recorded during the creation of Ganging Up On The Sun but not included on the album. The Astronauts, a producing team, remixed a techno-inspired version of "Satellite" that appears on this EP as well. This was first released as an iTunes single and a radio edit of this song received airplay on radio stations. "Two of Us" is a Beatles song which the band covers on the EP and "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is a somewhat less-than-serious cover of the original Bonnie Tyler song, recorded at a concert at the State Theater in Portland, Maine. Brian Rosenworcel, the band's drummer, sings the lead vocals, a rare occurrence in Guster's music. Since it was supposed to be the week of that, he let me continue on as a month of Sega Ages with Sega games started from A to Z and maybe some other stuffs that's part of it. Now here's a shoot'em up game you might like and it starts with H.... Hellfire for Sega Genesis Hellfire is a science fiction-themed horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up game, where players assume the role of Captain Lancer taking control of the CNCS1 space fighter craft through six increasingly difficult levels, each with a boss at the end that must be fought before progressing any further, in a surprise attack effort to overthrow Super Mech, his army and the Black Nebula space matter as the main objective. As far as horizontal scrolling shooters go, the title initially appears to be very standard, as players control their craft over a constantly scrolling background and the scenery never stops moving until the stage boss is reached. A unique gameplay feature is the weapon system; players are equipped with four main weapons at the beginning that can be upgraded by picking up "P" icons and switch between them by pressing the change button, with each one shooting at a fixed direction no matter which way players move. Other items can also be picked up along the way such as speed increasers and "B" icons that grants a number of points, which are crucial for reaching high-scores to obtain extra lives. My friend sent me this Atari Super Pong Ten for my collection. Currently it doesn't work and my friend was never able to figure out why. A quick inspection showed no corrosion in the battery compartment nor any disconnected wires in the battery area. Looks like a pretty clean pong considering the issues it's having. This game is a side-scrolling platformer in which the player takes control of Mickey Mouse as he goes inside the Castle of Illusion in order to rescue Minnie Mouse from an evil witch named Mizrabel, who wants to steal Minnie's youth and beauty. Upon meeting and conversing with the castle's true owner and king, Mickey is told that in order to defeat Mizrabel he must find the Seven Gems of the Rainbow. The majority of the seven gems are kept within various illusion-filled worlds (known in the game as levels) and are being guarded by Mizrabel's henchmen – which are known as the Masters of Illusion. Alongside the Masters of Illusion is Mizrabel's army. The army consists of bizarre creatures, such as enchanted mushrooms, toy soldiers, ball-juggling, unicycle-riding clowns, spiders and armored knights. After thanking the castellan and hurrying into the castle hallway, Mickey begins to search through five doors that each leads to a different level. Four different craft are available and each has different weapons. Their flight speeds also vary. This task becomes increasingly difficult with each new mission, and the aliens are capable of hiding inside objects such as plants, post boxes, trash cans, drums, and other items. Each mission has an objective such as rescuing people or destroying a UFO. After defeating certain aliens, flying skulls will appear, which can be shot to collect life or energy. Each character starts the game with three lives, and will lose one if they are hit without carrying any rings, fall into a bottomless pit, crushed, drown, or fail to finish the act within 10 minutes. If the player loses their last life, the game ends prematurely. The player can also collect seven "special rings" to access special stages, where Chaos Emeralds are found. Special stages are on a 3D plane, where the character tries to obtain a set number of rings before time runs out in order to collect a Chaos Emerald. Players can attack their opponents with jabs to the face or with body blows from either hand. The opponent can deflect punches, so players must aim at the opponent's open spot (where the gloves are not) to connect. However, upon the addition of Majin cells to her, she began to develop an evil side. The two sides would fight for control over their shared body, with her hunger usually and mostly being the most dominant, even though 21 would often fight against her urges, not wishing to bring ill to anyone. Unfortunately, in the Super Warrior Arc and Enemy Warrior Arc, it is implied that her good side was completely overcome by her hunger, causing her evil nature to take over completely. The player initially chooses one of four tracks using the steering wheel: Fuji Speedway (from the first game), Test (resembling Indianapolis Motor Speedway), Seaside (resembling the 1982 United States Grand Prix West circuit in Long Beach), and Suzuka Circuit. The cars have a different color scheme, the explosions now show debris, there are several new billboards, and there is a new opening theme song. Here's my #segasaturday post of... The Ren & Stimpy Show Presents: Stimpy's Invention for Sega Genesis. Based on the Nickelodeon cartoon for which the game is named. A player or 2 players have to guide Ren and Stimpy as they retrieve parts to rebuild their newest and latest invention. Most of the game play is of the side view platform type. However, the game can be played both one or two player through the same stages. This game was preceded by Veediots! and followed by Fire Dogs. In one player the player controls either Ren or Stimpy and the computer controls the other character who will simply follow; however, the player can swap the character they control at almost any time during game play. In two player, players controls one character each, both within the same screen (no split screen). In one or two player several special moves can be performed by both characters standing close and a player pressing certain buttons simultaneously, the move differs depending on which buttons are pressed and whether the player is controlling Ren or Stimpy. The ability of swapping characters during game play in one player means the player can perform all the special moves not just those available for one character. The moves include: Stimpy throwing Ren to cover long distance such as over a hole. Ren pulling off Stimpy's nose and throwing it to attack enemies (his nose regrows instantly). Ren slapping Stimpy across the face while shouting "You stupid idiot!" having no purpose other than amusement. Powdered Toastman has the ability to rescue the player's characters from bottomless pits. However, the rescue costs the player a portion of their health. If the player's health is low enough to die with one more hit, no amount of health is taken away when the Powered Toast Man rescues the player. Here's my #fightinggamefriday post of... River City Melee Mach!! This game is a enhanced River City Melee: Battle Royal Special. The game uses the same game modes from the previous game: Single Play, Free Battle, Online Battle and Option. In Mach!!, each stage has a fixed number of rounds. The first stage has two rounds and the second has three. The third stage has five rounds. The remaining rounds are done exactly like in the previous game. The opponent in the fourth stage depends on the team being used, and that will also determine the number of rounds for that match. The fight in this stage is always done as a Tag Match regardless of opponent (the player controls one character and selects a teammate controlled by the CPU). The fifth stage is a single round match against a single opponent using a single character. This is the only instance in the game where such a fight is possible. Most characters will face a member of Wu Wonfu in this stage. For the sixth and final stage, the player has to face the remaining members of Wu Wonfu and the Mastermind behind the tournament in a three round Tag Match. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 for Sony Playstation 2/PS2 In this game, the World Tournament allows players to compete against up to 8 players in a Martial Arts Tournament. If more than one human player is present no prize money is available, but with only one human player prizes can be won. Dueling mode allows a player to fight the computer at a preset skill level, or two human players to fight each other using any custom skills. A player may also watch a fight between two computer fighters. Made up of three sections, the Skill Shop, character editing, and instructions. A player may edit skills on either memory card. Aside from Dragon World, the Skill Shop is the place to get your skill capsules. Bulma will wear a different costume depending on how many the player has collected in Dragon World. Each character has a Health bar, and a Ki bar. When the health runs out, the character loses (as in most fighting games). Ki is required to perform special moves, and Ki blasts. Characters can dodge attacks. Found another Nintendo 64 game in the garbage outside. This is Smash remix, a mod of Super Smash Bros. At this point, this being called a simple romhack is an insult. This adds a ton of characters, stages, and other mods to the base game making it more in line with the other games in the series. If you haven’t played it, I highly recommend it. I bought this on eBay because to me it seemed version 15.0 would be the last version of this. The rom size has been slowly ticking toward 64 mb, which is the largest file size the 64 can play. The seller also included a box for the game which I love.
