Woke up this morning wanting to put a little work in on shawty. Wiped her down from the years of dust, dirt, metal and whatever else…. Got the rear installed and measured up wanting to take a little over an inch off of the rear to fit the 15x12. Got measurements pulled for the anti roll bar. I heard that 4 rotors drank fuel so got this 30+ gallon cell fitted. Rough size ic core made up and measurements pulled to make a rad.. thinking I’m going to add a second rad on the passenger side along with dual oil coolers with all the added space with the tubed front end. Had the rear bar for the cage shortened / moved by the strut towers. First had major issues with fuel pressure, then went ahead and installed my new @vi.engineered v band turbo kit, @humble_engineering helped me finish my new exhaust set up. And just when I think car is ready I run into another stupid issue! Of course bmw things the VANOS! @tier1euro has been helping me with the car since the issue with fuel pressure and installing my turbo kit. He has gone above and beyond to make everything work, and even cleaned up some stuff to make everything cleaner and functional. 605Hp 502Tq When you make a cool drift car plant that power in a straight line on radials. I had the greatest opportunity tuning @v2lab Ravi personal drift car. He told me the car been battling so many drivability issues for awhile. First thing first was seeing why those issues were there and then making the correct changes and one by one all these issues that was once there is no longer. Not only is the drivability quality night and day but the dead spot in his previous map is also gone too. Now this car idles better, has better throttle response, drives a lot smoother and gets in its powerband so much smoother and faster, it’s a new car now. The setup is a built 2J, ID injectors Garrett turbo all controlled by a @fueltechusa FT450. We stopped at 605hp 502tq cause I told Ravi something just didn’t seem right cause it kept dropping fuel pressure, at one point it would almost drop 19psi of fuel pressure. Not only was that an issue but we later found out his coupler had a decent size hold on it. Went for a alittle test drive on the street and damn this car feels amazing in EVERY GEAR definitely a sleeper lol. We didn’t push it hard cause we had to turn it down till the other issue were fixed but as is this car gets it. A few days later he already started working on his fuel pressure issue and upgraded the turbo aswell. 1000miles from Pennsylvania to Orlando FL. There’s so much to mention where to even start. This started off as remote tuning first. Customer been mentioning all the issues this car been having like idle, not boosting properly and not feeling healthy overall. On the first upload after making all the new accurate changes to his @link_ecu G4X ecu every single issue was gone. He loved the pump gas session so much he asked to come to Florida and finish the E85 flex tune in FL. This build is no joke and not one corner was cut. It’s built Mivec motor, Kelford 280/276 cams, Next Gen PTE 6266 (big frame Vband), Bosch DBW Electronic Throttle Body with evo X pedal setup, NGK cop, JMF drag intake manifold, FIC2150’s all configured on the LinkG4X standalone ecu. This combination worked so damn good and with a lot of Mivec adjustments and DBW tuning to get this turbo spools nearly instantly. We finished the pump gas tune at 559Hp 428Tq & on the E85 flex fuel map pushed it hard upwards to 783Hp 670Tq 40+psi. At that power level it started to spin hard up top on the dyno so we left it there. I Also didn’t sacrifice one ounce of drivability, it drives like a brand new stock car still. Went for a few streets hits and even me, someone use to these cars this Evo powerband puts your chest in the back seat. These DBW at times are a hit or miss but on this setup I can strongly say it’s working. This session I’m beyond proud of how well everything went cause I told him everything to fix and do and we had not one issue on tune day.
