My second Mcleod clutch master cylinder replacement. When they say you need to be dead on, on the rod alignment, they are right. Had all kind of problems that I didn’t know what was causing it. Too much to write to explain the problem I was experiencing. Anyways, I took my time and adjust the firewall bracket that the Mcleod master cylinder mounts onto. Had to remove hella shit just to get to the bracket. Now, clutch pedal doesn’t make noise like something binding when I step in the clutch pedal, no slight grinding while slowly going into gear, take off is easier now, and going into reverse gear is easy as well. Hella relieve it was just the clutch master cylinder. We had a compound turbo failure at the Reunion race, as well as running 6.59 (on a timing system error, DOH!) so that pass didn't count. But we have the short track on the car working very well, with some really consistent, quick 60 foot times. I think we will see a 1.0x sixty foot time soon. That combined with the MPH this car pushes will result in some very quick ET's VIDEO --> https://grannas.racing/659 At the race we had a consistent race car, multiple 7.0 passes, then a 6.90 and it was on another 6.8x or so pass until 2nd gear in round two when the "small" compounded turbo let go. Woke up this morning wanting to put a little work in on shawty. Wiped her down from the years of dust, dirt, metal and whatever else…. Got the rear installed and measured up wanting to take a little over an inch off of the rear to fit the 15x12. Got measurements pulled for the anti roll bar. I heard that 4 rotors drank fuel so got this 30+ gallon cell fitted. Rough size ic core made up and measurements pulled to make a rad.. thinking I’m going to add a second rad on the passenger side along with dual oil coolers with all the added space with the tubed front end. Had the rear bar for the cage shortened / moved by the strut towers. Slowly making process, taking longer than I wanted due to having surgery in January. Dad has been helping me out quite a bit, putting up with me and trying to teach me to do auto body work. He keeps saying “I’ll make a sheet metal worker out of you yet!” 🤣 to which I reply “Dammit, Dad, I’m a Nurse not an auto body mechanic!” Some upgrades with a few SNAFU’s and trying to get things figured out. Brand new LS3 engine with a 6 speed manual transmission, complete new suspension, will have power steering, disc brakes on all wheels, new rear axle, 4-link suspension, replacement patch panels on the rear cab corners, floor pan, and roof (thanks, Dad!). Haven’t quite gotten the rest of the parts yet. Still putting everything together, and needing to get things fine tuned. Took down 1,140 lbs of scrap/rust that was removed. As you can see it was pretty well eaten up with rust. I had the body, hoods and fenders acid dipped, and the smaller parts all sandblasted.
