Can you organize without any new bins? YES! We used bins this client already had to organize her storage room. We went through all the bins, decluttered them, put them in categories, and labeled! We were able to get everything off the floor and give it all a designated home. If your bins don’t fit your space, however, they can quickly cause problems. Space in front of bins usually gets filled with misc things, bins too big and items get lost, too small and things won’t fit. What a dreamy wrapping station! We’ve made gift areas like this in laundry rooms, storage rooms, hall closets, and more. We include all the wrapping necessities and usually some gifts that our clients have on hand. Do you have a dedicated wrapping area in your home?
Drowning in sheets? Aim to keep only 2 sets per bed (that’s one on the bed and one extra set). If you have a baby/toddler, keep a few more for those middle of the night sheet change emergencies. Separate your sheets into size and put into bins- then they don’t have to be folded perfectly but still look neat. And you can find exactly what you need! If you have rooms on multiple floors, instead of keeping extra sheets in a linen closet, keep the sheets in the room they belong in. You’ll always be able to find the set you need!
