Hi folks, I’m getting prepped for the Sheep to Shawl sale at the Willamette Heritage Museum. It’s a fun day, with lots of animals and activities. I’m bringing some fiber for my spinning friends and a teeny bit of yarn. There will be lots of sale priced fibers (some priced as low as $25/lb) - these are fibers that are past their prime, but will spin great for someone with experience or a carder. I will also bring out the drum carder and be making a few batts while I have the ancient fibers out. I’ll also have some undyed and newer fibers with me. I am still totally new to spinning, took a support spindle class in Oct. been practicing a little but not as much as I should. Sometimes my knitting doesn’t feel instagrammable! I’m making okay progress on cloud peak but the fancy cabling gets done separately so everything is just kind of bleh looking. Also it’s a little trickier than I would like to get the fronts and back to line up. I’m so glad I own a spin dryer. Ultimately I realized Kitchener stitch and yak based yarns are not friends and eek it the bottom. Pulling the yarn through repeatedly led the yak to pile up and created a dark line around the join that I personally didn’t like. On a dark color or a smaller area it might not have mattered. So I ripped back the sleeve and whole body and did it again. Thank goodness this is a quick knit, even on US 3 needles!!!! #threefatesyarns #knitting #sweaterweather #knitknitknit #blocking
