Last week we looked back 30 years to when a guest was on a motorcycle trip through Ireland and found her way to Mount Falcon, our fishery, and Mrs. Aldridge’s good graces. This week we heard from @galgorm_cottage_pottery who calls Mount Falcon her “special retreat.” Wendy says she visited us for the first time in the Fall of 2023. Whether walking with Hunter the hawk and Falconer Dan, or being pampered in the spa, Wendy has fond memories of her visit. “The fabulous food awaiting in the Kitchen Restaurant” followed by a nightcap of a wee Old Fashioned in the Boathole Bar are highlights for Wendy who added, “And the best thing is the next morning you get to experience new delights.” Wendy, said she’s looking forward to her next visit this year. We always love hearing stories from guests about their experiences here at Mount Falcon. Susan Raby-Dunne took us back to 1982 when she visited on a 6-week solo trip on her BMW R100 all the way from Canada. It was then owner Mrs. Connie Aldridge who hosted Susan on this visit. Susan tells us she endeared herself to Mrs. Aldridge by taking the proprietor's Springer Spaniels on walks. Being the good angler she is Susan reeled in two Atlantic Salmon from our fishery on the River Moy during her trip. She spotted river otter as well, local fauna we're still lucky enough to see on the property to this day. Susan brought her parents and new husband back three years later in 1985, and sure enough, pulled in more salmon on that trip as well. Thanks for sharing Susan, and we hope to see you for visit no. 3 soon! Last series of Perth travel-log! Visited Perth Zoo during the day, met some cute animals but Quokka was too shy hence only can see it's side view. We were lucky as there was Perth Royal Show at night. It's basically like a fun fair/carnival but in a huuuuge scale. Saw loads of XXXL chickens (so traumatized I refrained myself from eating 🐔 for a week after seeing 'em 😂) and other farm animals! All the doggos of different breeds were extremely adorable and the duck racing competition was just.. entertaining. 😆 We didn't take any ride, rather we were just chilling around and booked a sweet spot for the night performances instead. Drone show was nubbad, fireworks display was magnificent!! Last but not least, spent my last day at Perth roaming around the city street, taking touristy pics, travelled through Transperth 🚆 and of course dropped by at my favourite Chemist Warehouse, jaw dropping at the different forms of laxatives available. 😂 ... Perth trip was lovely, quality time spent with my buddies was priceless 🥹 Thank you for hosting us, planning the itinerary and bringing us around, Master Leong! So good to see you again after 4 covid years!! And back to virtual meets for now, buddies! Til' the next time we all meet again 💛 #throwbackstories

You probably know I worked in baseball, but did you know that back in high school, I was hired as the first female bagger at our small town grocery store? Talk about smashing those glass ceilings! 💪💕 I remember customers commenting about how times were changing! 😄 You see, an amazing opportunity with the Art Club came up – a trip to Italy and Greece! 🇮🇹🇬🇷 But my wonderful parents taught me the value of hard work and responsibility. They said I had to earn half the trip's cost myself. 💸 So I scored this job as a grocery bagger and saved up the money. And it was totally worth it! 🙌 What an amazing trip and great memories. My time at the grocery store wasn't just a one summer gig; I worked there throughout high school and college – working my way up to cashier! Throwback story!!!. Reel stories are for thursdays.💃💃💃 Decorations that made my day.... It was on a saturday afternoon, on my way to the market to get some ingredients for my cupcake design because i had an order to deliver the next day. So, i was on a motorcycle with a lady who sat infront of me. I had a flour bag with me which i held onto so as not to easily fall off, I guess she saw the flour and asked me if i was a baker, I answered in affirmative and proceeded to talk about my business( my people carry your business for head oo as in, tell people wetin you dey do wey fit better their life😉)She went on to say that she was having her introduction the following week and is in need of an event stylist, my dearies, we exchange numbers to talk about the design when we get home. I chatted her up on whatsapp, gave her samples of designs and prices. She said she just wants simplicity and that what i am offering her was way above her budget. Being a business person, you have to work with people's budget especially in events management. I asked her, what's her budget, that we could work with her budget. We agreed with the arrangements and design. I proceeded in getting the neccessary materials ready to style the couple's stage . We got to the venue and did our decoration with a clinker in the design. It was more than what my client wanted... It was magnificient. What's that budget of yours? we would gladly work with it. Pt 1 I had finished church & was rushing home to get my make up done & change my outfits for my launch and the voice of my colleague that had washed me down some weeks before the time came rushing back, and I began to feel a level of anxiety. _ This man weeks ago didn’t stop asking questions like; why will people listen to you, this isn’t a typical business book why would they buy, what qualifies you to be one who wrote this e.t.c. And guys, I didn’t know I had given his doubts such attention till I was telling my publisher about 4 weeks to the launch date that I wasn’t sure I wanted to put the book out anymore. _ Publisher: Kemi, are you ok? After all the cost to edit, print design e.t.c. Thank God for voices that speak encouragement _ Well, the day was here & it was beyond what I imagined or prepared for! 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲... It was one of the most embarrassing day of my life. We went to a Chicken Republic that was in one of the busy markets in Nnewi. I couldn't concentrate on the ice cream nor the food I was eating. My heart was doing gbim! gbim!! gbim!!! I was always looking around to see if people were looking at me or even talking about me. I had my eyes on the door, hoping that none of my classmates, friends, family or relatives would come through that door. Whenever I see a face that looks a bit familiar, I would hide my face and hope they wouldn't approach my table or recognize me. Gosh! I was there but I wasn't there. I wanted to close my eyes and just dissappear. I hadn't felt so shy in my entire life! I think he noticed how shy I was, knowing fully well that I hardly leave my parents house except for school, church and other errands... But wait a sec! This was exactly how I felt when I shared my first post on Facebook. My heart pumped more blood that day than it did in the past 17 years! Sweaty palms, increased body temperature, shallow breathing, you get the picture. Anytime I receive a notification that someone liked my post, I would rush to my post to see if it was a classmate, or a family member that reacted on my post. I prayed that none of them would see my post, because I didn't want them to nickname me "Facebook Motivational Speaker". I almost deleted that post and even my Facebook account out of shyness and fear of the unknown, and I'm glad I didn't. It wasn't just the first day. I felt similar way for days until I started getting comfortable sharing posts on Facebook. ... And the rest they say, is history. Now over to you, how did you feel on your first date/post?
