Many marine life animals including sea turtles, whales, and birds may mistake these plastics as food and ingest them. Which is not safe and could hurt or k!ll them. Plastics also do not biodegrade. They actually break down into microplastics and produce BPA that can interfere with reproductive systems in marine life. What can we do instead? Well, for starters, we can skip the straw! Drink your favorite beverage the old fashioned way—with your hand and tipping that thirst quenching drink directly into your mouth.
