Der SVB startete furios und Michi schnürrte mit Treffern in Minute 14, 16 und 18 einen lupenreinen Hattrick. Nur 4 Minuten später schlug Marc einen langen Ball, den Jordan Schiebli sehr gut mitnahm und Christian Bischoff bediente, der knapp verzog. In der 29. Minute knallte Noah Mattes den Ball mit links aufs Tor aber der Torwart konnte den Ball gerade noch entschärfen. Der in der ersten Halbzeit einsetzende Schneefall ging auch nach der Pause weiter und erschwerte die Bedingungen deutlich. Jordan Schiebli spielte in Minute 53 einen guten Ball auf Christian Bischoff, dessen Abschluss knapp am Pfosten vorbeiging. Zu Beginn des Spiels lief man mehrmals knappen Rückständen hinterher und vergab durchaus den einen oder anderen Wurf aus der Nahdistanz. Im dritten Viertel konnte man die körperlichen Vorteile etwas besser ausspielen und aus der erhöhten Intensität folgten Steals bzw. Turnover. Im Ergebnis führten unsere Jungs nach Q3 mit 76:43. Das von mehr Fouls zu unseren Lasten geprägte Schlussviertel konnten die Hallenser für sich entscheiden und zum Endstand von 88:60 verkürzen. Damit qualifiziert sich unser Team verdient für das Halbfinale. Despite facing a strong wind in the first half, our girls displayed remarkable resilience, scoring crucial points while defending against a very strong forward line for Mercy. However, a late goal before half time put the Déise girls in front and we found ourselves down by 5 points at the halfway mark. Our girls rallied in the second half and with the wind at our back, Mia Tynan stepped up to score two goals which gave us the boost we needed. Our back line were immense, especially towards the end when the pressure was really against us. With 10 mins left and CCC up by 5 points, Mercy Waterford threw everything at us. Emily Bernard made an incredible save to stop a near certain goal heading straight for the bottom corner and Robyn Keating’s crucial clearance held firm under intense pressure. Our girls showed unwavering determination until the final whistle, allowing our captain Emma O’Shea to lift the cup. Yet another extraordinary memory these girls have given us! We’re extremely proud of every player from 1 to 34 and the TY ‘selectors’ who were super throughout the season.
