【Preparation time for the photo exhibition】 I had been thinking about making the photo exhibition an installation in the form I often do, so I had been thinking about the materials and layout for a month. Since the subject of the exhibition was to raise an issue, I felt that it would be impossible to present it all at once, even if I thought about when I started in 2021. I believe that the filming and research was very difficult and time-consuming due to the limited time available, and that is why I was able to convey what I could. Even though it is a complex history, I felt that there were many things I wouldn't have understood if I hadn't gone into it. Living in contemporary society, that is one of the questions I am asking myself. The exhibition space is also an architectural space, so I would like to think of the margins as a space and use them as I like. Das "Schlammloch" und der "Nebel" täuschen: Das ist Unzen Jigoku (#雲仙地獄), die "Unzen Hölle". Sie befindet sich unterhalb des Kraters des Unzen, (雲仙岳 Unzen-dake), einem Vulkankomplex. Er besteht aus mehreren Gipfeln von Schichtvulkanen und Kratern und befindet sich nahe der Stadt Shimabara in der Präfektur Nagasaki auf der Shimabara-Halbinsel der Insel Kyūshū. Die Unzen Jigoku ist ein weites Feld aus Fumarolen, Thermalquellen und heißen Schlammkesseln, welche zum Teil Temperaturen von weit mehr als 100 °C erreichen und schwefelhaltige Dämpfe ausstoßen. Die dortige Landschaft hat im Laufe der Jahrhunderte bedingt durch die mineralischen Ablagerungen eine kreideweiße Farbe angenommen. 【雲仙地獄 Unzen hell】最近、城だけ見るのも良くないかな、ということで他にも色々訪問している。今回の九州旅も九州到着後に色々調べているなかで雲仙地獄を発見！行ってみようとのことで吉野ケ里遺跡の後に訪問。ナビを見ると高速道路を使っても下道でも数十分しか変わらないので下道を選択。基本、貧乏性なんだな。 思ってたより混雑していたので、明るいうちに間に合うかなと思いつつ諫早湾干拓堤防道路を通過。ここが噂の干拓のために諫早湾を塞いだ堤防か！さすがに長い！ 昔と違って開けるな！立看板有り。もう既得権益になってるのね。歴史を感じます。 さらに雲仙地獄を向かうと冬用タイヤ以外は通行禁止の看板がどけているけど、あるのを発見！ レンタカーだけど事故があったら困るので、念のためタイヤをチェックしたら、まさかのノーマルタイヤ! しまった!九州だから、まさか雪はふらないだろうと思ってチェックしてなかった。九州じゃあ冬は頼まないとノーマルタイヤなのね。 ここまで来たので、行けるとこまで行って危なそうなら、すぐ引き返すことにして前進。 事故起こしたら、日を改めて戻って来れないからな。これからは必ずチェックしよう。 ただ幸いなことに道には雪は全く積もっておらず、無事に雲仙地獄に到着。でもまわりの土の部分にはところどころ雪が残ってたのでタイミングが悪ければノーマルタイヤなら危なくて行けないな。 ちなみに駐車場は雲仙お山の情報館の無料駐車場を利用させていただいた。他は有料で500円だが、行く時にグーグルマップでたまたま見つけた。ただ17時には閉められるようなので要注意。 この閉鎖時間にあわせて約40分の滞在時間だったが、それで十分な距離しかないです。 #雲仙地獄 #雲仙地獄めぐり #雲仙地獄巡り #雲仙 #雲仙市 #雲仙お山の情報館 #雲仙温泉 #unzen #unzenhell #雲仙岳 #雲仙天草国立公園

Beautiful hot springs with a dark past As soon as you set foot in Nagasaki’s Unzen Onsen, your nose will tell you just how prominent the hot springs here are. A strong odor of sulfur permeates the air, and heading over to an area called Unzen Jigoku, you’ll see the hot springs steaming, hissing and bubbling right out of the ground. “Jigoku” means “hell” in Japanese, and though the name was originally given due to the barren nature of the area, seemingly devoid of flora and fauna around the pools of boiling water, this did indeed become a real-life “hell” of sorts. Under Japan’s crackdown on Christianity in the early Edo Period (1603-1868), Japanese Christians in the area were rounded up and tortured here. Стоит в зависимости от уровня дохода - я плачу $15 в месяц - это копейки по местным меркам, тк работающие люди платят во много раз больше. Но, насколько я знаю, мой грант вообще не входит в понятие «доход», поэтому сейчас он якобы равен нулю, и из-за этого стоимость страховки такая низкая. Но даже если его и считают как доход, то все равно для Японии это ни о чем, что-то вроде нашего бюджета прожиточного минимума. Итак, что там по основным плюсам: +: покрывает как государственные, так и частные клиники. Ты просто предъявляешь свой полис (карточка размером с обычную банковскую, которую всегда нужно носить с собой) и в итоге тебе выставляют счёт уже -70%. То есть, не нужно созваниваться со страховой компанией и что-то обсуждать (у меня была добровольная медицинская страховка в РБ, и там было совсем не так - абсолютно всё решалось через страховую компанию, я ни с кем сама не договаривалась). +: покрывает даже стоматологию. Я, когда ехала сюда, вообще боялась этого момента, тк думала, что придётся идти на панель, чтобы вылечить 1 зуб (эти мысли у меня есть до сих пор😑). Поэтому, если будут мысли о переезде не только в Японию, а глобально, - лучше обследуйте и перелечите все дома (я так и сделала, хоть и влетело в копеечку, но в Японии я бы отдала минимум раз в 20 больше даже с покрытием в 70%). This is the famous sightseeing spot that is the epitome of Unzen hot springs. It's Unzen Hell(Jigoku)! The scent of sulfur rises up on the air. From the depths of the earth, all of a sudden a hot vent of steam is flushed out, fully enshrouding the surrounding scenery. It truly is like a scene out of hell itself. This is the place that came to be known to Christians as the stage of the martyr. This is the place on which stone monuments commemorating fallen comrades still stand. Renovated in 2016, this tourist attraction, which up until then had been a "see hell" experience, became a "feel hell" experience. A walking platform going straight to "hell" has been set up, and along its roughly 60-minute course, there are new vistas and lookouts to see as well as a chance to experience the Unzen Hell with all five senses. Just be careful.
