తెలుగు వాఙ్మయములో శతకములెక్కువగా కనబడతాయి. శతకములనగా దాదాపు వంద పద్యములతో కూర్చిన కూర్పులు. ప్రతి శతకానికి ఒక మకుటముంటుంది. ఒక శతకమకుటమొక శతకములో తావుకొన్న అన్ని పద్యాలకు చివరిలో అంటుకుంటుంది. ఇంతేకాకుండ పెక్కు శతకకవులు "శ్రీ" అనే మేలుపలుకుతో మొట్టమొదటి శతకపద్యమును మొదలుపెడతారు. ఈ కట్టుబాటులను పాటించుచూ పదమూడవ శతాబ్దపు పాల్కురికి సోమనాథుడు నుడివిన వృషాధిపశతకమే తెలుగులో పొడకట్టిన మొట్టమొదటి శతకమని చదువరులు తెలుపుచున్నారు. పాల్కురికి సోమనాథుడితో పాటు తెలుగు శతకములనొనర్చిన కూర్పరులు చాల మంది ఉన్నారు. వీరిలో కాసుల పురుషోత్తమకవి మిక్కిలి పెంపుగలవాడు. చల్లపల్లి సంస్థానపాలకుడైన శ్రీమంతు రాజా యార్లగడ్డ యిమ్మడి అంకినీడు చాచిన ప్రోపుచే చల్లపల్లి కొలువుకూటములో కొలువైన పొత్తపుగూర్పరి పద్దెనిమిదవ శతాబ్దములో బ్రతికిన యీ కాసుల పురుషోత్తమకవి. కాసుల పురుషోత్తమకవి యీ నాలుగు శతకములను నుడివినాడు: మానసబోధశతకము, హంసలదీవిగోపాలశతకము, భక్తకల్పద్రుమశతకము, ఆంధ్రనాయకశతకము. ఈ నాలుగు శతకములలో ఆంధ్రనాయకశతకము లెస్సగా గుర్తింపు పొందింది. ఆంధ్రమహావిష్ణువును కొలుచుచూ పురుషోత్తమకవి యీ శతకమును నుడివినాడు. ఆంధ్రమహావిష్ణువనే వేల్పు నారాయణుడి స్థానికస్వరూపము. శ్రీకాకుళమనే చారిత్రాత్మకమైన ఊరిలో వెలసిన వేల్పు శ్రీ ఆంధ్రమహావిష్ణువు. ఈ శ్రీకాకుళము తొల్లిటి చల్లపల్లి సంస్థానపరిధిలో, పచ్చని పేరేటి ఒడ్డున (కృష్ణానదితీరమున) వ్యాపించిన ఒక పల్లె. ఇక్కడ నెలకొన్న శ్రీకాకుళాంధ్రమహావిష్ణువే కృష్ణదేవరాయలకు కలలో కనబడి తెలుగులో ఆముక్తమాల్యదను రాయమని, “దేశభాషలందుఁ దెలుఁగు లెస్స” అని చెప్పాడు. విజయనగరకాలములో యింత యెన్నికను కాంచిన యీ చోటుకు, యీ ఊరి గుడికి ముప్పు తరువాతి కాలములో పుట్టుకువచ్చింది. అప్పుడే యీ గుడిలో కొలువుదీరిన వేల్పుకు సలిపే చాగుబడిక తగ్గిపోయి కోవెల కూడ పాడైపోయిందని చదువరియైన గిడుగు వెంకట సీతాపతి పేర్కొన్నాడు. ఇటువంటి పరిస్థితులలో పురుషోత్తమకవి సీసపద్యములతో ఆంధ్రనాయకశతకమును రాసాడు. ఈ ఆంధ్రనాయకశతకమొక నిందాస్తుతి. ఈ తీరులో రాయబడిన కూర్పులు వేల్పులను తిన్ననైన తిట్లతో, ప్రశ్నలతో, నవ్వులాటతో చాటుగా మరియు నిండుభక్తితో కొనియాడతాయి. ఆంధ్రనాయకశతకము నుంచి రాబట్టిన ఒక తెలివిడిని యిప్పుడు చవిచూద్దాము. గొప్ప భక్తుడైన పురుషోత్తమకవి నారాయణుడి రామావతారము గురించి ఒక పద్యములో మాట్లాడుచూ రాముడి మగటిమిని యెగతాళిచేసాడు. వెరపునెరగని సీతమ్మతల్లి వలనే రాముడికి మేలిమి వాసి తరలివచ్చిందని పురుషోత్తమకవి పేర్కొనుచూ రాముడు సలిపిన పనులను నిండుభక్తితో యీ పద్యములో తలచినాడు. ఈ పద్యాన్ని నిండుగా పైన చదవగలరు.

Karnataka - Day 4 (6 Dec 2022) We started our fourth day by visiting the ashrama of Ganapati Sachchidananda Swami. Sri Swamiji is a great modern spiritual leader. His mission is to revive the Hindu culture, reform society, establish peace and happiness. Sri Swamiji was born on May 26, 1942, in Mekedatu, a small village in Karnataka. His mother, Mata Jayalakshmi experienced a Divine vision of Lord Dattatreya, who informed her that he would take birth in her womb. His birth is said to have occurred on a rock in the Kaveri while his mother was in deep meditation. The boy was born covered in vibhuti when he was born. When Sri Swami was eleven years old… (the story continues on Paramahamsa Vishwananda facebook). The ashram is very beautiful, with an enormous Hanuman statue towering over the landscape at the entrance. We arrived to find that the main hall of the ashram was full of devotees as there was a special programme for Dattatreya Jayanti. Guruji was welcomed onto the stage and honoured with great reverence and respect. After some time, we had a tour of the ashram. The ashram has a huge parrot sanctuary containing many rare species of parrots. Guruji was very happy and spent much time interacting with the parrots and at the request of all posing for pictures with them. We moved to the Zen Garden where we all could experience the tranquillity of the nature, harmony and serenity while walking among different deities installed there and rich varieties of bonsai trees. But the most impressive part of this oasis was still ahead. It was a Hanuman temple which was decorated with different paintings from life of Lord Rama and Hanuman lila. Hanuman himself was wearing clothes from palm leaves and decorated generously with garlands made from exotic flowers. Down the stairs of the temple there was a cave with the murti of Panchamukha Hanuman inside a heavenly fountain, a true refuge for devotees during hot Mysore days. At the end of this marvellous journey, we all received delicious prasad. Karnataka - Day 3 (5 Dec 2022) Our third day started in the beautiful resort where we are staying with a delicious indian breakfast and a view of the lake in the hotel’s park. The first place we visited was the holy town of Melukote. Sri Ramanujacharya spent around 12 years in this vicinity and till today his influence is palpable. Nearly every house we passed was adorned with the Shank Chakra Tilak. The temple here is considered one of the holiest Vaishnava places in the world. It is the temple of Cheluvanarayana Swami. The temple is very ancient with beautiful architecture. This murti of Lord Narayana is 1000s of years old and extremely special because He was worshipped by Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. When Sri Ramanuja came there, he found out that there was no utsav murti. That night Sri Cheluvanarayana came into Sri Ramanuja’s dream saying that his murti had been kidnapped… (the story continues on Paramahamsa Vishwananda facebook). We also had darshan of Maha Lakshmi and Sudarshan Chakra. We continued our adventure to the mountain top temple of Yoga Narasimha. There are approximately 300 steps a person must scale in order to reach the temple. It is visible from afar, but its grandiose architecture and reliefs can only be appreciated up close. Prahlad Maharaj himself installed the murti of Yoga-Narasimha in this temple. So, the whole group had a crazy riksha ride up the mountain in order to reach the steps that lead to temple. Weekend visit. கோவிந்தபுரம் - கும்பகோணம் ஹரி விட்டலே ❤️ The temple is situated in around 15 acres of land on main Mailaduthurai-Kumbakonam route near Thiruvidaimaruthur. There are 3 important Mandapams and two main entrances. Lord Vittal Panduranga blesses His devotees with His concert Rukmani. No poojas and archanas are performed, devotees form queue and they are allowed to touch and worship Lord and Goddess. Another important feature of this sprawling Temple complex, is the Goshala (Cow shed). Here there ar more than 250 cows of various hue and colour and size. Mostly they are brought from Northern part of India. Many cows are from Ayodhya-Dwaraka belt whose ears are long and dangling.
