Dear Friends! Already on October 3, 2020 Boris Kegel-Konietzko passed away at the age of 95. With him, the art world has lost a dealer, scientist and storyteller who was literally born into tribal art. No wonder, his parents Lore Kegel and Julius Konietzko were already internationally known traders and researchers. African tribal art was Boris' life - at least since he photographed and described all the exhibits of Hans Himmelheber's West Africa expedition in 1934. . I personally miss Boris as a friend and mentor, as an inexhaustible source of vital energy and knowledge. . The past 3 months, which have flown by, have been filled with remembrance, reflection and planning.Now it is a great honor for me to be the one to lead Boris' gallery in the future by the side of his wife Ingeborg - moreover, it is the most beautiful way to stay connected with him that I can imagine . .
