Monsoon and how it feels while growing up My favourite season is monsoon. Growing up, I used to look forward to monsoons. They soothed my soul, the chilly winds, cloudy skies, getting drenched in the first rain shower of the year always felt special. Seeing the rainbow adorn the sky felt surreal and I always felt like I belonged in the clouds. I would sit by my window and stare at the skies and the greenery all around. It elevated my senses. But as i stepped into adulthood, the specialness of monsoon got lost. I no longer enjoyed or even looked forward to monsoons, well because I didn’t care about them anymore. They felt like any other season and any other day. But now, as I write this while it’s pouring outside, I understand that I hadn’t been connected to the rains for so long, and I suddenly feel a reconnection with monsoon.
