But I do for my sanity, #mentalhealth and #selfcare For me, making sure I roll out my mat is committing to a schedule. I’ve been practicing yoga on Monday evenings for well over a decade. I coordinate the wellness program @innoworksldn where I get to practice Thursday mornings with so many fabulous volunteer instructors. #Repost @thementalfitnesstrainer 💜 - It's Monday afternoon and I'm STILL cruising on a high from Saturday's Ontario 2nd Annual Women's Self-Care Conference in London.⠀ ⠀ I had the extreme honour of speaking at this event - sharing my entire story... from start to current... with 150 amazingly beautiful women.⠀ ⠀ If you saw my live from that morning, you know I was shittin' rocks I was SOOOO nervous. 😳 Never have I EVER done something like this. Never have I ever spoken in front of that many people, not to mention allow myself to be completely vulnerable with my life.⠀ ⠀ But I did it.⠀ ⠀ And damn it felt good to step out of my comfort zone, be vulnerable and to reach out to so many people on so many levels.⠀ ⠀ But the biggest honour?⠀ ⠀ Having so many amazing people share their journeys, challenges and their vulnerability with ME. Words cannot begin to describe the feeling of love, support and truth that surrounded us in that room.⠀ ⠀ Thank you so much @debcrowemidlifewisdom for inviting me to be a part of this outstanding event, and thank you to all of you amazing attendees. You are now officially a part of my tribe. ❤️⠀⠀

Now I am going to be brutally honest here, I truly hadn’t looked into what this event entailed. My amazing Opts manager Hannah (@hgoldbe3)came across the conference and pushed me to apply as a vendor. To say I didn’t truly understand what it was all about is a gross understatement! . . My enthusiasm level when my alarm woke me up at 6:30AM on a Saturday morning was about a 2 outta 10. The thought of packing up and dragging my tired 🍑 to the Marconi Club to spend the next 10 hours at a conference was as appealing as chewing on glass! . I walked in the room full of females and my level of anxiety went from a 3 to about an 8. I was alone standing on display in front of my table waiting for women to approach me and ask about my fitness studio. What if nobody talks to me? What if I have to stand here alone like a loser all day by myself? Panic set in, then a kind voice snapped me out of my own head. Phew 😅 someone wanted to talk to me! Not about my gym, just to talk because I was alone and she wanted to make me feel welcome and comfortable. This set the tone for the love and support I experienced throughout the rest of the day. . To my pleasant surprise, the day was filled with strong women sharing their stories of tragedy and not only survival but triumphs and successes. Through crazy odds, these women survived their impossible situations and turned them around and created beautiful lives and relationships along the way. . Deb Crowe, if you didn’t know, is from London. This was her 1st conference in her home city, and the love and admiration for her in that room was overwhelming and after spending the day listening to her speak, encourage, motivate and challenge women to put their “shit in the table!” (her words exactly) I now understand why this event sold out. She is an incredible, strong, smart and passionate individual. If you get the chance to attend one of her events you will not leave disappointed! #HiIgnitionFitLab @womensselfcareconference
