In 2015 was my 5th surgery on this ankle to walk and have a normal life. I received pediatric donor cells in bone that failed 2 transplants and 2 remodeling attempts. The cells came from a tissue bank so it was anonymous. I could never thank those parents, going through the worst experience in their lives, who still chose to send their child through the honor walk to donate organs, tissue and help so many people. I never forgot this generosity and want to thank these parents wherever they are. On April 11th, SHP presented the North Patrol substation with Honor Chair 288th for our brother, Officer David Evans. Some of you San Antonio locals may remember the Denny’s shooting which injured 4 officers back in 2003. David was one of them. I worked with David when he came back to patrol after recovering from his injuries. He had a tremendous personality and his smile was contagious. He loved telling the Denny’s story in hopes of it helping other Officers learn from it. Thank you Elizabeth and the Evans family for allowing us to honor him. Une coquille vide, sans réelle atmosphère, dont l'architecture mérite toutefois de s'y arrêter. En bas, on est accueilli par une grande salle, sans doute le salon. À ses extrémités, de plus petites pièces, toutes en rondeur, qui donnent un réel charme à l'endroit. Le bel escalier en colimaçon d'antan s'est volatilisé. Alors pour accéder à l'étage, il faut affronter des marches en bois décrépites, dont on peut sérieusement douter de la solidité. En haut, le plancher (enfin ce qu'il en reste), fin et rongé par l'humidité, est extrêmement fragile. ⚠️ Le moindre faux pas peut se transformer en chute mémorable... Voire dramatique (‼️ je déconseille vivement à quiconque de s'aventurer là). 🏚️ L'étage ne présente de toute manière pas grand intérêt : quelques pièces vides, des tags miteux, des poutres apparentes. Dans un recoin surélevé, au plus près des combles, logeait le personnel de maison. Il ne reste plus grand chose de leurs chambres non plus, hormis les cloisons. Deux niveaux plus bas, la vaste cave et ses couloirs lugubres valent le coup d'œil. 👨🎨 Quelques belles fresques, une appropriation façon gribouillage de la Cène (toile de Léonard de Vinci représentant le dernier repas du Christ), l'antique chaudière et le serpentage de tuyauterie rouillée apportent une touche de fantaisie à ces murs pierreux sans âme. So thankful for those who continue to honor Tyrel and remind Reece that she will never be alone. Although Tyrel and I were divorced when he passed away we remained friends and co-parented like a boss and always knew the most important thing was Reece. I always joke that Tyrel set me up for failure because our divorce was so easy and I just assumed that they was what divorce was. We never followed our decree, we worked together when Reece needed something , we took Reece on trips together after we got divorced, he stayed at my house when he had leave and got to come to Texas to see her- we kept Reece the focus because she was OUR babygirl. For that- I am grateful Since Tyrel passed away in 2018 so many people have come into Reece (and my) life that will always be so special. Getting to spend the day today with @gabbyquatse and @alijleblanc while cheering on their incredible husbands @roland0321 and @s_torment87 was priceless. I got to see Reece laugh, be silly, be completely carefree but then also struggle with the loss of Tyrel not physically being present. Reece has not been dealt an easy hand of cards and I’m proud of her daily but days like today….I see the strength and grit inside of her that her dad also had. She is resilient. She is a Genoff. Time is fleeting. Love those around you big. Leave with no regrets.
