FOOD FOR THOUGHT FRIDAY:
Confidence.

Feeling sure of yourself and your abilities is the foundation of confidence, however it is quite literally something I feel like I can’t grasp onto.

Common things I ask/tell myself include
- There is someone better.
- I am going to embarrass myself.
- What if I’m not qualified?
- What if I fail?
- What if I’m missing the mark?
- What if I’m doing something wrong?
- What are they going to say about me?

These are very consistent conversations in my day to day life as a student, a volleyball coach, and as a human being in society. What I’ve noticed over time is the common denominator:
I’m predicting the future without understanding my current position and fear what others will think about MY journey.

We will never understand what’s going to happen, because we are simply in a different moment: RIGHT NOW. I can’t sit here and tell you I’ve got it all figured out now, because truthfully I’m still struggling with the idea of confidence.

Although I’m not where I want to be YET, I’m working to get there. After sitting with the feeling of insecurity, I decided to do some research about how to improve my confidence & here’s what I found.

I challenge you today to create a committed action that will push you towards your goal this week.

Mine is I will spend one hour this weekend learning about how I can be the reach my potential as a coach this season.

I’m not committing to being the best coach I can be this season, but that is my goal and I will take reasonable and actionable steps to get there this weekend.

What’s yours?
