And now here we are 6 weeks out from RTPD 2024 😬😁, I checked out a few different shows last year and knew this was the one I wanted to do, Loved it. Prep is going really well so far, ticking all the boxes. I have definitely had some moments of brain fog & tired and hungry moments. The other night I was so hungry I ate an entire bunch of celery 🤣🤣🤣 never enjoyed celery so much in my life 🤪 Life is very much eat, sleep, work, weights, cardio, posing practice, repeat, but I'm thriving on it and loving this process. I'm 40, I used to be obese, I've had babies 🤷‍♀️ I'm competing because I love training and needed a goal. It's not so much about the show (although that's very cool) it's about testing my own determination, mental strength, discipline and the work ethic in getting there. It's about pushing the limits and finding my own personal potential, overcoming anxieties, adversities and challenging myself. I'm doing this for me. #8weeksout #journeytostage Pictures comparing the peak of my bulk to today at 8 weeks out from competing for the first time. I hope to one day be bulk size but lean 🫠🙏 Things are certainly a bit more challenging at this stage of the game, but all and all manageable! I'm always training to try to keep up strength wise to when I was eating more which doesn't happen all of the time, but still getting PBs here and there. Not so much doing the big compound movements like I was, more focus on time under tension and lots of drop setting, more volume and going heavy on top sets. Cardio 6x per week. I am quite hungry a lot of the time, which is expected 🤤 I'm finding the whole process fascinating and absolutely cannot wait to see how I turn out in 8 weeks time. Get Realistic with your expectations. Gaining muscle, increasing strength, losing bodyfat all takes time. Put it this way, you didn't wake up one day overweight, weak, low energy etc. It has taken months to years to achieve the poor health. You can expect a similar time frame for many of your goals. Yes we can make some pretty quick changes. But we want to make sure that the work you do is also sustainable long term (to a point). If we don't change behavior and lifestyle then you will be in the same position you started in again pretty soon. Managed to walk away with 2 x National records! 1 for bench press 92.5kg and 1 for deadlifts 160kg in the Sub Master category. Hot Chocolates 😋 But of course we can't have high-calorie hot chocolates when trying to lose weight. Very easy to add a little bit more and get that extra chocolate taste. The Avalanche sugar-free hot chocolates are a great alternative. There's other sugar-free options as well that you can look at getting. They can save you quite a lot of calories, especially if you're having one every single day. Again, we want to look at total calories for the week, not daily. Yes, daily is also important, but we can easily blow out a week very quickly in one day. I really like the taste of the Avalanche sugar-free sachets. They seem to be the best flavour in my opinion. 16 weeks out #prepdiaries #journeytostage Food has gone up some more this week. Over the last 14 months working with my coach @amberbrine.figurepro.official, my metabolism is now really good, which means I can diet on quite a lot of food and respond well to adjustments I try to be as accurate and consistent with my diet as possible to give my coach a really good measure without many variables, and she makes the call week to week how we move forward. Training is feeling great, getting plenty of PBs I've put the hard work in on a solid build season, which puts me in a good position going into prep, so far so good. I'm prepared for it to start getting a lot harder in the coming weeks as we start to peel back, but I'm feeling really positive generally. Except for the odd bad dream... When I say I have a sweet tooth, it's not just the tooth, it's the whole lot of teeth. The whole mouth. Lollies are fine in moderation, but they tend to be very calorie-dense. While they're delicious, it's essential to be mindful of their calorie content. Compared to other food scources like chips or chicken breast, lollies can pack quite a caloric punch. For instance, 220 grams of lollies can contain 700-1000 calories, while the same amount of chips or chicken breast would be significantly lower, around 300-400 or 250-280 calories, respectively. 🍗 The allure of lollies lies in their sweetness and easy munchability, making it all too easy to overindulge. Shout out to @andrew_barrett_50cal This guy has faced some immense challenges over the last 12 months and more. 💪💪 Last year in August Andrew suffered a heart attack. 🫀 there's been several injuries and other complications that have threatened to really derail Andrew and challenge his whole view of life. Andrew understandable had some time when things did get the better of him and there were definitely some struggles. But I'm immensely proud of him. He's had to make some pretty massive life adjustments but he's done it all and is coming along in leaps and bounds now. Andrew competed recently in a 10k powerwalk event and came 3rd. Pita Pit Comparison. I love Pita Pit and their wraps are pretty good in terms of macros. What else should I compare? As you can see, the wedges are super high calories. They also have very low protein so not exactly a great option. Then combined with a brownie, wrap, and shake, you're looking at 2000 calories. This post is to help inform you on more calorie-dense foods. In no way am I saying not to have PitaPit.
