The last of our commercial ewes to lamb. We lambed at 145% this round which is exciting. Interesting to note we normally have a 50/50 male to female split but this season we have seen a 70/30 split in favour of little ram lambs. More product for market 💪.

Finding a rock-bed on the farm and pretending it's a house with a sink, bedroom, spa and lounge (seen with the kids sitting in first photo)....complete with two two-ways to communicate with each other. We're desperate for rain. Hay prices (if you can find any) are through the roof! There's no feed on the ground and our sheep are due to start lambing next month! We've managed to purchase a lick feeder and have found (through a farmer Conor knows from work) some lupins... Lupins/grains are currently a 5 week wait around here. We just got lucky that this farmer has a spare Tonne of lupins we could purchase! We grabbed 21 square bales of hay and 1 large bale of straw. The sheep refuse to eat it, but if things get bad they will. It's like giving a kid a plate of broccoli.... If they're starving they will eat it! 🥦 As you can see, we've kept the sheep well fed and looking fantastic.... But we do really need rain! This is one of our early 2023 commercial ewes. She has good worm resistance, so has only had one drench very early on in her life. She has reasonable feet structure but we would like better. She also is phenotypically a good example of an Australian White. A beautiful all round ewe. We look forward to seeing her offspring soon.
