The window where the AC unit is located is the front bedroom where my mother slept. Then you have the living room and bathroom. Down the hall is the kitchen, and finally the two bedrooms in the back. I slept in one and my sister slept in the other one. When I started working on BELLEVUE STREET PREACHER, the first setting that came to mind was this building. I have fond memories of growing up on Bellevue Street. Some good and some bad. My first shootout was had right there on that porch (but that's a story for another book). As a writer I try to put a little bit of who I am in every story. This building, this street, really shaped me into the person I've become.
