I believe that if God had rejected the offering of both of them, Cain wouldn't have killed Abel. Infact, if God had accepted Cain and rejected Abel, I believe Cain would have been sad. However God accepting Abel and rejecting made him feel worse. (Just like Raju and Farhan felt bad when they thought Rancho failed, but felt Worse when they learnt he came first) Your flesh will from time to time want to follow the FOOTSTEPS of Cain BUT you must learn to deliberately put your flesh under and let the love of God that has been shed abroad your heart stir you up to rejoice when God is working in your neighbours life while you are still waiting. HOW TO BE A DOER OF GOD'S WORD Do you really want to be a doer of God's word but it looks like the more you try, the more you fail? Come closer let me tell you something. Many believe that they only have to hear, then do. But there is a process you are skipping. The bible describes the Word of God as mirror. The unique thing about the mirror of God's word however is that: 1. It does not show you who you are at the moment, rather it shows you the version of YOU that God sees (a glorified version of YOU). For example, a shepherd boy looking at that mirror might be seeing his reflection as a King. 2. The more you look from the Word at that reflection of YOU in God's heart, the more you become more like it. Just like 2 Corinthians 3:18 says as we behold the glory, we are changed into the same image. James 1:23-25 KJV For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But WHOSO LOOKETH into the perfect law of liberty, AND CONTINUETH therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a DOER of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. It centred around a man who hired people by 6am with an agreed wage for 12 hours of work. He later hired others by 9am, 12 noon, 3pm and 5pm to join the original 6am workers. At the end of the day, he paid them all for 12 hours of work which angered the 6am guys. Let me highlight some lessons 1. The vine owner paid the people who worked for less than 12 hours in full for every hour they thought they wasted. God's grace compensates for time lost. For everyone that has lost time, that looks like you have been left behind, God's grace restores all you lost to you in Jesus name. 2. We don't know why they were not hired in the morning, maybe they didn't look like they could work, or some of them even came late to the market BUT GRACE covered for whatever error and weakness. God's grace speaks eloquently over your life in Jesus name. 3. The grace shown by the vine owner and the faith of the labourers came into play here. They could have given up and returned home since no one hired them on time. But imagine that some of them were still at the market square till 5pm. They did not give up. For someone that is at the brink of giving up, DON'T. GRACE is about to turn your situation around. Make sure grace meets you waiting and expectant in spite of contrary situations. 4. Don't be like the 6am guys. Rejoice when God is showing His graciousness to people you think do not deserve it. Resist the urge to be bitter against God because of another man's result, quit comparing yourself with others and rejoice at what God has blessed you with and what He is blessing others with. ✨️ FREE WEDDING ASOEBI🌟 Tomorrow is Saturday, and Saturdays are for what? Owambe 😁😁😁 Brings me to Matthew 22, Jesus tells a parable about a wealthy king who prepared a feast, inviting many guests. Sadly, those initially invited treated the feast with indifference, representing the nation of Israel rejecting Jesus, God's greatest gift. Undeterred, the man instructed his servants to bring in anyone they found, both good and bad, to fill the feast. The hall was soon full, with guests clothed in wedding garments PROVIDED AT THE VENUE. But there was one man who sneaked in without the proper attire, rejecting the wedding garment offered. Matthew 22:11 TPT Now, when the king entered the banquet hall, he looked with glee over all his guests. But then he noticed a guest who was not wearing the wedding robe provided for him. He learned the hard way that he couldn't be allowed in the feast with any other garment. Note that those invited to come from the streets did not buy wedding clothes. They were given. This wedding robe is a picture of the garment of righteousness that grace provides for us. Romans 5:17 KJV much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) The man without the wedding garment had one provided, but he didn’t want it. He can be compared to a man that wants to approach God based in his own righteousness. However, our righteousness is like filthy rags, unfit for the feast. Yet, GRACE provides the wedding garment of God's righteousness, making us worthy. Romans 10:3 TPT And since they’ve ignored the righteousness God gives, wanting instead to be acceptable to God because of their own works, they’ve refused to submit to God’s faith-righteousness. Romans 10:3 reminds us that striving for our own righteousness falls short. It's faith in God's righteousness that truly matters. GRACE IS NOT FAIR, GRACE IS GODLY. The parable in Matthew 20 is one of the striking story of Grace. The Man hired people to work on his field from 6am to 6pm and they agreed on a good pay. They were happy to take the job. Labourers usually come to the market places very early before dawn and wait for people to hire them so they can start work by 6am. On this particular day, the man hires those he needed already. However by 9am, he went out and found people idle. Out of compassion, he told them to go to his farm and he will "find something" for them at the end of the day. The same thing happened 12 noon, 3pm and finally 5pm. You could imagine how the 5pm guys felt, they had wasted 11 solid hours, it was now a case of "at all, at all". Even if it is money for water, let's just not return empty. GRACE IS NOT FAIR, GRACE IS GODLY. The parable in Matthew 20 is one of the striking story of Grace. The Man hired people to work on his field from 6am to 6pm and they agreed on a good pay. They were happy to take the job. Labourers usually come to the market places very early before dawn and wait for people to hire them so they can start work by 6am. On this particular day, the man hires those he needed already. However by 9am, he went out and found people idle. Out of compassion, he told them to go to his farm and he will "find something" for them at the end of the day. The same thing happened 12 noon, 3pm and finally 5pm. You could imagine how the 5pm guys felt, they had wasted 11 solid hours, it was now a case of "at all, at all". Even if it is money for water, let's just not return empty. FACE TO FACE WITH GRACE: THE STORY OF A REPENTANT CROOK Another notable story of grace is the story of Zaccheus in Luke 19:1-10 AMP. Zaccheus was a crook and fantastically corrupt government official who many hated, especially the self-righteous Jews. However, he had heard so much about Jesus and desired to see Him. Jesus was passing through that community to another, but His journey was interrupted by the desire of a "sinner," who climbed a sycamore tree just to catch a glimpse. A sinner like Zaccheus couldn't even imagine inviting Jesus to his house, but Jesus invited Himself. Zaccheus was a man who experienced grace firsthand. Of all the "righteous" people in that town, Jesus chose to visit a sinner like him. The love of Jesus led Zaccheus to repentance and the decision to restore all he had gotten unjustly. Jesus didn't tell him to restore but Grace overwhelmed him to that point. Take home: 1. Preach the true gospel of righteousness by faith to sinners instead of focusing on behavior modification. The Jesus you are preaching to them is powerful enough to change them from the inside out. 2. Jesus came to Zaccheus while he was still a crook and sinner. When Jesus came in, Zaccheus' changed his ways. No one is too far gone to be saved. 3. God's grace is available to everyone, no matter how "undeserving" they may seem. PRIORITIES IN DISCIPLESHIP Luke 14:25-27 NKJV "Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 'If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.'" Haaaaa, hate bi ti bawo? Hate @bimbillions or hate Daddy and Mummy Biola? The words "hate" here might seem shocking at first glance, especially from the mouth of Jesus who taught us to love even our enemies. Jesus taught is to honour our parents and love our spouse so how can he tell us to hate at the same time? In this context however, Jesus is using a figure of speech to reveal the depth of commitment required in discipleship. These relationships mentioned—spouse, parents, siblings, and even our own lives—are the closest and most cherished to us. Jesus isn't telling us to literally hate them; rather, He's emphasizing that our love and commitment to Him must be so deep that in comparison, our love for these closest relationships seems like "hate." If following Jesus means going against the desires of our loved ones, putting our lives at risk, or facing inconvenience, what would we choose? Discipleship means prioritizing our relationship with Jesus above all else. So, it's not about despising or neglecting our loved ones, but about recognizing that our love for Jesus should be the highest priority in our lives. LEARNING THE ART OF PRAYER --- Prayer can seem mysterious and people that are fervent and effective in prayer sometimes unintentionally make it appear so. In Luke 11, the disciples of Jesus asked him to teach them to pray citing how John also taught his own disciples to pray. Luke 11:1 KJV And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. Just like the disciples asked Jesus to teach them, we too can learn to pray effectively. PRAYER CAN BE TAUGHT AND LEARNT Ko seni to muwa lati orun. Many fervent men/women of prayer weren't born that way; they learned it and YOU CAN too. You can't continue to rely on others to pray for you—what if they haven't learned how to pray too? How do you Learn: 1. Read Books on prayer 2. Listen to messages on prayer from seasoned ministers. There's a wealth of wisdom online. 3. Join a Prayer Community. Surround yourself with those who understand prayer and pray well so you can learn from each other and encourage one another. I still remember stepping into Holyhill Church @holyhillchurch for the first time August 24, 2014. Pastor Sunday @sogidigbo was teaching a series titled "The Art of Prayer," with Hagin's book with the same title as the reference material. To be honest, that teaching was the reason I concluded, "this is home". In the last decade, Holyhill has supplied me with books on prayer (bookshelf dey), messages on prayer (PSun must do a series on prayer every year) and also a prayer community. ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE Mark 8:36 reminds us, "For what use is it to gain all the wealth and power of this world, with everything it could offer you, at the cost of your own life?" 🌍💰 The obsession for material things is alarming, and we must not lose sight of our eternal souls in the quest. No amount of pleasure or riches is worth sacrificing our souls for. The mantra of "ki n sha ti lowo" (I don't care what I have to do, as long as I have money) is prevalent in our days but Jesus said in Luke 9:25 AMP For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world [wealth, fame, success], and loses or forfeits himself? I know you want to secure the bag but is your soul secured yet? Secure your soul in Christ first by believing in His death and resurrection, and confessing Him as your Lord. QUICK REMINDER From Matthew 14 and 15: Jesus fed 5000 men (not counting women and children) with 5 loaves and 2 fish, and there were 12 baskets left over. Another time, he fed 4000 men (plus women and children) with 7 loaves and a few small fish, and there were 7 baskets of leftovers. The fact that he performed this typd of miracle twice is proof that it is not a fluke! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus doesn't just heal and forgive sins; He also provides abundantly for His own. In the midst of economic uncertainties, remember this: Jesus can meet your needs from what seems insignificant.
