Last week I made a very difficult decision to step down as the OFHS Boys XC Head Coach. This past year with the guys was a memorable one. I have moments that I will take with me and cherish the rest of my life. I have a very strong focus right now that made my decision for me and I am excited to see what happens. As far as my coaching future, currently unknown. I know I still have an absolute love for it and to help guide young athletes to fall in love with the process and realize the life long benefits running can have and being part of a very special community. Last night we had our OFHSXC team banquet. Itโs been about a few weeks since weโve all been together. It felt great to have the team and parents together again! It was a good night with good food and great people. I am grateful for all the people involved who made last night special: Julie from the Township bldg department for helping me setup this event at the Community Room. The layout of the room was perfect! My mom spending all day making homemade spaghetti and meatballs! We have been a little behind with posting for the winners of Character Matters awards the past few weeks. Staten Blake won Truthful 2 weeks ago and Angel Vargas won the award for Obedient for last week. Staten had a great first season and Angel Vargas with Kai Espinosa-Golinski, Calvin Barnes, Daniel Reeves, and Xavior Smith are all preparing for Sectionals last week which will determine who will be qualifying for state. The second pic is our Captains Choice Bulldog Runner of the Week Earned @ SWC Conference. Lucas Poole ended up finishing first for our team at LCCC. He has been as consistent as he could be all season battling through some knee issues. He put in the work in the pool and rehab to get back to appropriate competition running shape to tackle Conference and he shined!
