It's not the Disney version and I highly recommend it, if you love talented singers and dancers as much as I do. Wow was the word of the night. Lovely animation, my favorite composer, and the inspiration for the amazing (in my opinion) Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Lumiere is my inspiration today. Speaking of "Monster's", I forgot to share our MU crew for the Oogie Boogie Bash a couple of weeks ago. My husband and I were random MU students. Our daughter and granddaughters represented the HSS, EEK, and PNK sororities and our sons and son-in-law repped the ROR, JOX, and OK fraternities. I'm proud of the way the shirts and costumes came out. I'm no @merryfairygodmother 🙌🏻 (yet 😉) but everyone knew what the theme was, so that's a win! 🎉 -I've been slacking a little lately. I watched Lion King 2 recently with some of the grands and couldn't help but think of how Zira was so full of anger and how contagious it can be. All she wanted was revenge for her perceived injustices. She trained Kovu (and others) to think like her and to hate who she (and Scar) hated. I couldn't help but see parallels in society. All Kovu knew was how terrible Simba was. As Kiara and "upendi" softened his heart, he was able to see them in a different way. Love is stronger than hate. Light makes darkness disappear. Kovu's entire countenance changed. Being happy feels better than being angry. 2017 marked my last half marathon. My last runDisney event. My last Disneyland race. The Avengers Half with my daughter. They had announced that there would be no more races at Disneyland and I was sad about that. It was my favorite venue! Whether it was Star Wars, TinkerBell, Disneyland, or Avengers weekend, I wanted to be there. I generally signed up for the challenge (the 10k and the half). Mostly because I love the bling. 🏅 There were weekends I did the 5k too. Bonus shirt, bonus medal. 🤷🏻♀️😂 I did do the Goofy Challenge in 2013 and the Dark Side in 2016 (Kessel Run Challenge), in Florida, and it was fun but I California is closer. I can drive there. 2018 came and I was diagnosed with my first autoimmune disease. 2019 came and I got SICK. Later that year I was diagnosed with my second autoimmune disease. At that point, I didn't think I would ever run again. I was only a little sad about the running thing since Disneyland wasn't going to be doing races. I have been a little relieved that I wasn't missing out. Anyway. Today I did a thing. This coming February is the Princess Half Marathon weeked at Walt Disney World and I signed up! Eek! I have been able to manage my symptoms pretty well and have been feeling a little better lately so here we are and here we go!
