Was he a Welsh knight?, from Brittany, France?, looked for the Holy Grail (especially a la Monty Python 😆)? King Arthur's story was first mentioned in the 800s in a book called Historia Brittonum. It talks about his battles in the 5th century as a Welsh knight (so 300 years after the events, how true are they?). Despite the many changes over centuries and told in many countries of Europe, his story is still beloved. But one thing that is real-- a sword in a stone!...in Tuscany, Italy. At the Montesirpi Chapel, there is the sword of Galgano Guidotti. In the 1100s, he plunged his sword in the stone to renounce his life as a knight and committed his life to Catholicism.
