Elinor and Fergus are just fabulously written, with a love story that even Merida can’t keep her eyes off of. The subtlety of generational trauma and breaking chains is excellent and powerful. Even Merida, known for her resolute stubbornness, is humbled and extremely likable. I loved the ending and Merida’s entire arc. If I didn’t have so many more books to read, I’d pick “Fate Be Changed” up all over again.

Kiedy bogowie zaczynają obstawiać, zasady gry są jasne: wygrywasz albo tracisz wszystko. Coś musi się zmienić, bo zmiany są nieuniknione. Jednak w jaki sposób do nich doprowadzić? Czy wystarczy tylko impuls, lekkie popchnięcie? A może trzeba zniszczyć stare, by nowe mogło zapuścić korzenie i zakwitnąć? Jaka jest natura zmiany? Skąd pochodzi i po co nam ona? I czy zmiany, które zajdą mogą nam się nie spodobać? 🏹 "Jej matka powiedziała kiedyś, że są dwa rodzaje ludzi obdarzonych darem Widzenia: ci, którzy interesują się magią, i ci, którymi to ona się interesuje". Merida jest zdecydowanie w tej drugiej kategorii i chce ratować swoją rodzinę, swój dom. Jednak żeby to osiągnąć musi doprowadzić do metamorfozy i ma na to tylko rok. Bogini Cailleach stawia na naszą rudowłosą bohaterkę, ale Feradach uważa, że tylko zniszczenie może coś zmienić. Wyzwanie, które przyjęła wydaje się proste, ale tak naprawdę zadanie Meridy polega na poznaniu swojej rodziny. Czasem wydaje nam się, że wiemy wszystko o tych, których kochamy. Ta historia pokazuje nam jak wielu spraw nie dostrzegamy lub widzimy tylko czubek góry lodowej, a wiele twarzy naszych bliskich pozostaje przed nami ukrytych. 🏹 "A potem tygodnie planów zmieniły się w miesiące, aż w końcu Merida zrozumiała, że Elinor nigdzie się nie wybiera". Wydarzenia z przeszłości (transformacja Elinor w niedźwiedzia, klątwa) nie zmieniły podejścia mieszkańców DunBroch. Raczej spowodowały zastanie w strefie komfortu, zakłamywanie rzeczywistości... para królewska zachowuje się, jakby mogła machnąć ręką na wszystko, a problemy same się rozwiążą. It’s such a beautiful story with great characters, enchanting musics and it’s just so aesthetically gorgeous ! Merida is such a strong woman and it’s always a real pleasure to meet her. Even if, let’s be honest, I really don’t see her accepting to meet people in a princess restaurant. She would be like “yes I’m a princess so why can’t I just say I have more important business ? Like riding Fergus or trying to keep my brothers out of trouble ?” said with a very strong Scottish accent of course!

[avis] 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 ★★★★★ — 𝐫𝐞́𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞́ [Résumé en commentaire parce que pas la place ici] — 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞 & 𝐞́𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 J’ai très rapidement adhéré à la plume de l’autrice, que je trouve à la fois belle et très à propos dans ce livre destiné à des enfants/ado. Ne vous attendez donc pas à un univers de fantasy adulte et une plume ultra développée ici ! De la même façon, ne vous attendez pas à revenir en détail sur le passé de Mérida puisque ce livre a pour but d’exister après le film. Ceci étant dit, la plume est très agréable, et j’ai été émue par la symbolique de ce roman ainsi que tous les thèmes abordés. Par exemple, on accompagne Mérida dans sa prise de conscience de l’état dégradé de DunBroch, et je relate très fort à ce sentiment confus mêlant amour, regard nouveau, et prise de distance quant à son lieu d’origine (vu que je suis partie de la France toussa-toussa). C’est parfois avec un pas de recul que l’on peut observer tout ce qui ne va pas et devrait évoluer plus rapidement. Bref, outre ce thème qui, vous l’aurez compris, est venu me chercher, il y a aussi un fort amour pour sa famille, des paysages écossais, la volonté de faire ouvrir les yeux aux autres, un pacte avec un dieu, la fatalité et grandeur de la nature, l’importance de l’équilibre… autant de sujets qui font que ce roman est bien plus que son intrigue pour qui y est sensible ! Et contre toute attente j’ai été extrêmement touchée par la fin, qui était si belle que j’en ai versé quelques larmes. — 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 Le caractère impétueux de Mérida est respecté, et j'ai beaucoup aimé la manière dont son impulsivité est nuancée. On nous fait subtilement comprendre qu'elle n’est finalement pas tant plus impulsive que les autres autour d’elle et que les mots ont un poids parfois plus lourd de conséquence que ce que l’on pense. J’ai aussi adoré la manière dont les triplets ont tous leur identité propre dans ce livre, avec leurs différences physiques, émotionnelles et morales.
