Hako Update. The difference in a project being enjoyable and a nightmare can come down to something as simple as who you ask/hire to help. The first year of ownership of this car was pretty frustrating. The last 3 months have been great. Hiring @altissimorestoration to finish the body and paint work was step one. If you are in the market for a very high end paint job and body work talking with these guys are a must. They just don’t fu@k around. Great communication, staying on schedule you know the things that seem minimal but so many places can’t seem to do. Step two was getting @california_hako involved in reconditioning everything else or tracking down new parts so when the paint was done we could start to reassemble the car. If you have not seen his Hako check out his page. It speaks for itself. The detail, quality, and knowledge are unmatched. Over the past 2 years my enjoyment in the automotive industry has really taken a hit by dealing with people and shops that over promised and under delivered on numerous projects . It has taken a significant toll on my desire to keep doing car things. I don’t post about all these negative experiences but I will share the positive ones. The progress on this car has been giving me hope that good shops/people still exist in the industry. As far as the pictures go, car is being block sanded currently, not too far away from spraying some color. Any guesses? All the hardware was zinc coated, all painted (red) suspension parts have been clean and repainted black. Lesson #2. Be very careful who you take your project car to. About a year ago I dropped this car off at a shop as a beautiful running car. We proceeded to tear it completely apart. Then the shop closed its doors overnight with my car in as many pieces as could be. It was not the shops fault and they were awesome in working with me to get all my parts back but I was lucky. Shops close all the time and people lose parts, money, and cars. Do your homework on who you let have possession of your car. It could mean the difference in getting it back. Car is now in excellent hands at @altissimorestoration They have most of the metal work completed. All the rust is gone, extra holes filled in, lead seams removed, known water pooling areas resolved, and fenders going on. Almost ready for body work. 🥰🥰🥰

When I decided to share this build it was so others could hopefully learn from some of my mistakes. Probably the most common mistake/concern one can run into when purchasing a JDM car that is 20, 30, or in this case 50 years old is rust. Over the years I have seen some crazy stuff come out of Japan. The extent that some people, shops, exporters go to in order to hide rust and damage is down right amazing. Be wary of undercoating, freshly painted, body worked, etc cars. They are probably hiding something. Having someone you trust inspect a car in person is a must for me. There have been a few cars I really wanted but was unable to get qualified eyes on the car so I had to pass as the risk is just not worth it. There is some pure trash being imported into the states by some importers. Luckily for me the Hako was pretty clean compared to other Hako’s I have seen and heard about. But it still has required lengthy and costly repairs to do it correctly. Steam's latest hardware survey confirms that #4Kgaming is far from being popular. The most common answer when it comes to consoles is usually "buy a PC," but #Steam's latest hardware survey shows that most #PCgamers don't live a 4K life either. According to statistics, #Nvidia's #GTX1000 series continues to be the most popular, with more than 73 percent of the market, followed closely by the #GTX900 series and far behind, with only 11 percent, by the #GTX2000 series. In fact the most popular model is the #GTX1060, which leads to the resolutions: more than 65 percent of users play in 1080p, while less than 7 percent do so in 1440p, and only 2 percent in true #4K. The survey also confirms Intel's and Nvidia's absolute dominance, both companies with 75 percent of the market. In terms of #CPUs, the four cores are the most popular, with almost half of the market, and a similar percentage for the inclusion of 16GB of RAM - users with 8GB of memory are at 30 percent.
