There’s a new, unique collection at the Irvine Fine Arts Center Store. The exclusive, handcrafted bowls, created by studio volunteers and local Irvine artisans, are officially on sale. What makes these bowls so unique? Crafted with passion and expertise, these skilled and talented individuals have poured their creativity into making, firing, glazing, and perfecting each piece. Now, you have the chance to own a piece of Irvine’s art legacy. Each handmade bowl is a functional, exquisite work of art. Additional donations of pottery will also be available in the sale. The pottery is scheduled to be in the store through December 31, or until supplies run out. Bowls are priced at $8.00, $10.00, and $12.00 per item. Other pottery pieces will vary by price. “Dorothea Lange’s California: 1935–1942” is in its final month of viewing at the Great Park Gallery. This exhibition includes photographs of Lange’s journeys across California during the Great Depression as she documented the hardships faced by migrant families. This well preserved specimen was unearthed in the year 19024 in an area once known as California. It provides evidence of obsession with commercial products in roughly 17000 year old societies. The piece is dubbed Bountyful Bloom and is on exhibit at the Irvine Fine Arts Center.
