El Templo Longshan, es un santuario budista situado en el Distrito de Wanhua, Taipéi, Taiwán. Fue construido a mediados del siglo XVIII por colonos chinos. Es un recinto sagrado, considerado como uno de los mejores ejemplos de arquitectura taiwanesa. A lo largo de sus casi 300 años de existencia, ha sido destruido total o parcialmente por diversos terremotos, incendios y tifones, destacando entre ellos el terremoto de 1815, que dejó prácticamente destruido el edificio principal y el tifón de 1860, tras el cual el edificio principal tuvo que ser nuevamente reconstruido. El 31 de mayo de 1945, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, fue destruido por los bombarderos americanos en el Bombardeo de Taipéi porque pensaban que los japoneses escondían armamento dentro de él. 🏛️Longshan Temple🏛️ Longshan temple is a historic temple in the centre of Taipei City… known for its daily ceremonies and exquisite architecture! Now, this was my first ever experience at a Chinese-style Buddhist temple (other experiences were with Japanese-style Shinto temples), and I was blown away with the attention to detail and amazing structures that made up this temple! Not to mention the THREE waterfalls you can find in the temple grounds‼️ Like many cities in Asia, I absolutely love the mix of modern and traditional! Even in the first image, you can see this massive historic temple, with residential high rises in the background! This also includes my 2 last images, which were not in Longshan temple, but in a small temple nestled between 2 buildings.
