It is thought that the four large piles of bones in the corners of the ossuary were built by architect Jan Blažej Santini, due to their methodical pyramid-like stacking and wooden frame design. It was previously thought that František Rint was a wood carver and designer by trade, but it is now known through found documentation that he was a saddler. He originated from the town of Ceska Skalice near the Polish/Czech border. During this time, Rint lived at the ossuary with his family, and never left until his work on the interior decorations were complete. In 2014, a decision was made to start long-term renovations on the entire premises. This included dismantling all of Rint's decorations, one by one, and meticulously cleaning and petrifying them using a limewater bath process, and then carefully reassembling them again with new steel support structures. The rounded crown on top of the Coat of Arms symbolizes the prince title that was given to the Schwarzenbergs in 1670. The details in the crown were carefully thought out by Rint to include the intricate bottom band of the crown made of sacral bones, two rounded designs of pelvic bones with skulls in the centers to make the shape of the crown, and a cross made of long bones at the very top.
