Did a 10 hour round trip to go pick up this anvil. I've never seen a Peter Wright like it before so I wasn't about to let it slip past me. Now the real question is, What do I have here? Because I have no clue. Hoping somebody on here may know. It's purpose may just be totally lost to history. Not only is the foot uniquely shaped but it has a big threaded hole in the bottom too. It's definately a custom order or prototype but I can't find a bit of information about it. I have a theory about it that I'll leave in the comments on this post but I have no evidence to back it up yet. Not Civettictis civetta as they were sold as. iโm absolutely crazy about anything and everything civet at the moment, so when I saw this male/female pair for sale for an absolute steal I couldnโt say no. First Arizona frame is all done! This one has a variety of insects that call the state of Arizona home, including butterflies, moths, beetles, and a wasp. Some of my favorites are the giant leopard moth for its iridescent blue body and the zephyr eyed silkmoth because the entire automeris moth genus has such cool markings ๐ค I'm seriously having a blast making these American collections. Through all of my personal research, I am finding out all sorts of useful and fascinating information about my own country's insects, wildlife, and host plants. The USA is by no means as biodiverse as other countries, but it's unbelievable to see all of the insect species we have here. I've been able to start identifying more trees and butterflies outside, so it's a great and exciting feeling to use the knowledge in everyday life!!!
