In this issue, Uatu ponders over the story of Jean Grey as the Phoenix, and recalls her journey alongside the X-Men. He sees an alternate reality where she did not die during the incursion with the Shi’ar. In this alternate reality, she was reborn again and when the X-Men are called to battle Galactus and Terrax in the Shi’ar galaxy, she unleashes the Phoenix Force. She stops Galactus and is thanked by Lilandra. She begins to be overwhelmed by the Phoenix Force and destroys asteroids and a small star. Upon returning to the X-Mansion, Shadowcat chastises her for destroying another star. Jean again delves into the Dark Phoenix form and destroys Shadowcat. The X-Men try to stop her and she kills Polaris as well. Cyclops tries to stop her and she kills him. Maelstrom, son of an exiled Inhuman scientist and a Deviant woman executed for her marriage, attempts to destroy Inhuman society with an anti-Terrigan bomb, but Karnak, Gorgon and the Thing locate his mid-Atlantic base in the ruins of the first Attilan. Black Bolt arrives to fight Maelstrom, with Ben luckily ending the battle with a fistful of anti-Terrigan glob, and Gorgon destroys the base once and for all as the heroes flee—and though Maelstrom is killed he’s a geneticist and, like Mr Sinister after him, will fight another day thanks to a collection of clones. Un peu plus d'un an plus tard 😅 la suite... Un intégrale de transition, dont les points forts sont surtout les numéros qui mettent fin à l' intrigue du précédent avec les Terrifics. Et l'arrivée de Len Wein sur le titre, il ne restera pas très longtemps puisque Marvel Wolfman va le remplacer l'année suivante. Reste quelques numéros qui survolent, comme le 184 et 185, ou ont en apprend un tout petit peu plus sur le personnage de Agatha Harkness...🙄 Après c'est surtout une impression de redite que j'ai eu par rapport a l'intégrale de 1976, ici s'est Reed qui n'a plus de pouvoir (Ben Grimm dans le précédent). Je lis surtout ces numéros en bon nostalgique de mes années Nova, dans lequel je les avais découverts.
