Love this moment and felt like it was so fitting as we celebrated Sarah’s 3rd Birthday. In the midst of her party with people all around it seemed like time just stopped as Sarah laid down on the splash pad and was soaking up the moment for all it’s worth. With all the set up and talking for weeks and months about her big day, there she was enjoying moment in the sun. Lord thank you for this sweet, loving, strong, beautiful little girl. SEASONS | this was my song of 2018 and was very special for me to sing it this year for Christmas Eve services... this past year has been a great but tough year for me, one of rest, taking a sabbatical from playing out at different churches/events and focused my time just at Friends...it has also been a year of extra effort too welcoming our second #sarahsaintjoy into the world in June and stepping into an expanded roll at church. Seemed like I have experienced new levels of stress I never knew existed...like having vertigo for a month...but also the joy of being stretched and growing as a father, a husband, an adult, and a leader. This year has just fell in line with the past 5 years. To be honest the last 5 years have been really difficult for me personally. Back in 2013 God revealed much to Leah and I about our direction and calling in life, but ever since then I’ve felt that I have been in a dry/winter season. And even though I feel like I have been living in a winter season for the past 5 years I do sense a new day coming... “I can see the promise I can see the future You’re the God of Seasons and I’m just in a winter If all I know of harvest is that it’s worth my patience Then if you’re not done working then God I’m not done waiting” In the end I’m ready to wait until this season fully does come to an end but I’m holding on to the hope that the harvest that is to come will be better because of this past season. So thankful for another year, so thankful that God has shown me how much I need him in EVERYTHING. Thankful for these two. 💗💙 Not really sure what’s happening all the time and trying to pull things together daily (as these photos might make it seem like, ha!). This past couple of weeks I have been battling vertigo, which I think might be stress related, but I thank God for moments like these that remind me what is most important. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by work, parenting, events, etc. and especially with all the dizziness and headaches, it has been good to slow down a bit. To be able enjoy the beautiful chaos of living as a family. Joseph was playing on the beach jungle gym and in a moment I was just in awe of how much he has grown in the past almost 3 years. When these moments come I don’t want to miss them, sad to say I probably miss more than I want but I’m reminded again the little moments that make all the hard work worthwhile. Today Black Friday turned into Beach Friday for us! We went shopping, got lost in a couple of stores AND then found our way to Newport Beach to catch the sunset at the beach! LOVED IT! So thankful for my family! I mean look at #sarahsaintjoy smile!!! My heart is melting😭😭😭 #josephdavidapostle is the life of the party and @leahgaulton beautiful as ever being mom of the year! I don’t know when the vertigo will fully pass but I do know this Thanksgiving I am thankful for an amazing family, wonderful/hardworking/caring wife, two amazing children that God has blessed me with the opportunity to love each and everyday. there is so much I LOVE about this photo right here!!! First of all getting to lead worship with @leahgaulton is the best with in the world!!!! Proud of her for leading the past two weekends with me, first time since the baby #sarahsaintjoy was born. And third, we have been using Livestream for a long time but we have started test streaming our services on Facebook Live and it has been awesome! So many people being able to connect with the gospel through this social media platform. Thinking about how new a baby is and how God’s mercies are new every morning! He wants to love on us just like a mama loves on a new baby. Love, nurturing, discipline, correction, feeding, lessons then releasing. Even if you’re 100 years old, the Lord gives us grace and mercy and renewal. All you have to do is welcome Him.
