Thinking of Akinyi These days it's all about creating, trying out and optimizing our own and new crochet designs! We initially started out with pieces inspired or based on patterns by other designers, adopting & modifying them to our needs. Beautiful patterns mostly by East African crochet artists. I focused on optimizing the materials we use, where they come from and what feel they provide. Then, a couple of months later, I set about turning my design ideas into reality from scratch. Together with two talented crocheters, things are going well. When you combine these designs with organic materials, bold colors and adaptability to all bodies, they will speak Akinyi. Currently, we are working on half gloves or wrist warmers.
