Thinking of starting a series named: “Sunrise Revelations” Entry number one: While we started our time together with distant gaze as we do every week, we’re sitting, looking out as far as we can see across a speck of the vastness of the ocean. We’re waiting for the sun to break the horizon, teasing the lined beach of views with colors that dance behind the clouds. You can see its pre horizon glow for nearly half an hour before it makes its debut for the day. And then it was time. Except that we weren’t granted the first view. The break over the horizon was covered in clouds. A few minutes go by and as it gets brighter you know the sun is there. Somewhere. Not sure exactly where, when it will reveal itself, how to get to it. But still. There. Somewhere. Then the teeniest little bit of magenta red peeks through a hole in the clouds. It continues to rise above the clouds at the horizon and then, that’s when it came to me. The sunrise is so much more spectacular when it’s cloudy. As I welcomed the view I realized that our lives are at times similar to the sunrise. When you pray and share with God your wants, he doesn’t just give them to you, he gives you opportunities to become them. Praying for patience you receive opportunities in which to learn patience. You want success, he gives your opportunities to fail and then learn how to be successful. You want love, he reminds you that you are worthy of love. He gives the signs. The sun the wants. The clouds are the opportunities. The sun is the goals. The clouds are the obstacles we face and overcome. Without the clouds, opportunities, and obstacles, life just becomes a boring sunrise. The sun breaks the horizon on a crystal clear day and boom, bright light and you’re blind.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. Have you ever felt like Ananias? God assigned him a task, he told him to go meet with Saul. Ananias didn't want to he reasoned with God telling him how Saul was a murderer but God told him these simple words Go. Acts 9:10-15 Ananias went based off of what he knew about Saul not knowing that God was about to use him to turn Saul into Paul. Sometimes we question where God is taking us, we look at situations based off of our flesh. Sometimes God is calling us to do the unthinkable, he's calling us to walk by faith and not by sight! Even though Ananias didn't want to go he was still obedient, even though he had heard these horrible things about Saul he still moved to do God's will. I know sometimes what God is calling you to do may sound crazy but don't be afraid and walk out on faith because his plans aren't our plans and his thoughts aren't our thoughts. I'm sharing this with you because this was me this week. I knew in my spirit the assignment God was sending me on was apart of his will but my flesh didn't want to take up the task. I reasoned with God but at the end I submitted to his will and followed my conviction. When I said yes to the assignment God moved.
