wanted to share Hudsynn's story. Because you can be different and imperfect and still succeed Hudsynn has always had a difference in her legs which appeared slightly inward occasionally especially when she's tired. After struggling with dance last year in her routines I got her looked at for the second time ( first time was when she was young and they said nothing was wrong she was just lazy) basically... This time they see she has femoral Anteversion. Femoral anteversion is a condition in which the femoral neck leans forward with respect to the rest of the femur. This causes the leg to rotate internally, so that the knee and foot twist toward the midline of the body. This makes it extremely challenging for Hudsynn to dance. It takes a lot of focus for her to keep the appropriate stance, position,not to sickle her feet and also squeeze and stretch her legs and feet. Her muscles need to be worked in areas she isn't and hasn't been used to using. So while dancing not only does she have to remember a routine and have the energy, technique, showmanship and acting but she also has to be very focused on what her legs do. It's extremely exhausting. I was so proud of her scoring platinum which is the highest award yesterday at the dance competition. I have seen in a quick amount of time vast amounts of improvement in her dancing since physio and her diagnosis. If she wants to dance it will be challenging and exhausting even more so for her then most but she is so dedicated I am excited to see how she will power through and achieve big things. Part 2 of my favourite photos from my time as Brigitta at The Citadel Theatre’s The Sound of Music. Some of my favourite scenes (with me in them) and moments captured by the fantastic @nancpricephotography (thank you so much!!!). A highlight for me was having some lines that were serious and some that were funny. Loved hearing the audience laugh. Another highlight for me was performing with a live band! I love going to live orchestra events with my Oma and my dad and I love film scores so hearing the music directed by Andrew St. Hilaire (and one time sitting in the pit and observing) was just amazing! I loved learning about the roles at a theatre and seeing the different things a director, choreographer and stage manager bring to a play (I would love to try one of these jobs one day!). I also got to sit with Madison Henry, the stage manager, and see everything that happens with sound and lighting. That was a highlight! I LOVED hanging out with some very talented actors and getting to know them more backstage. We had some inside jokes and a lot of fun when we weren’t on stage as well! This was an experience of a lifetime. It has only made my love of theatre grow. Can’t wait to be on stage again in the summer for the Frozen intensive!
