Well there definitely wasn’t any time for April Fools gags at Beechworth Fire Brigade today. After an alarm call at just before 7am, we received a call to attended a motor vehicle accident on the Wangaratta Rd mid morning. A dual cab ute left the road & rolled over onto its roof. Fortunately there were no serious injuries reported. All occupants managed to exit the vehicle safely without assistance. With this determined SES crews from Beechworth, Myrtleford & Wangaratta were cancelled. Everton CFA responded but were cancelled when determined there was no risk of fire. Victoria Police & Ambulance Victoria also quickly responded & spent some time on the scene. While this incident was being wrapped up, we received a call to a structure fire in a building located the main street of Beechworth. Once again, CFA crews from Beechworth, Wooragee, Stanley & FRV Station 74 from Wangaratta were called. With all these resources on scene, the incident was quickly bought under control. With last nights football club rooms fire, that makes it 4 calls in the space of 24hrs. Combine that with the Good Friday Appeal efforts & participation in the Golden Horseshoes Parade. It’s been a big long weekend for our volunteers. Yesterday we welcomed the Minister for Health, Health Infrastructure and Ambulance Services, The Hon. @maryannethomasmp, Board Chair of Ambulance Victoria Shelly Park and Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Sharon Pickering to the Notting Hill Monash Postgraduate Paramedic Simulation Centre to launch our new Master of Paramedic Practitioner course and welcome our first cohort of students 🚑️🚨 Developed alongside @ambulancevic, @safercarevic, paramedics, clinicians, hospitals and unions, the first cohort will graduate from the course in 2026 before deployment to regional Victoria. The new specialised role will deliver graduates an expanded scope of practice - allowing them to deliver urgent care in the community and eliminating the need for a trip to hospital. Graduates will have an expanded level of care via advanced clinical training, and will allow Paramedic Practitioners to make advanced judgments and undertake assessment and diagnostic investigations in the field. 🚑 Project Completed 🚑 The new @ambulancevic station in Foster was completed before the Christmas break. The site for the multi-million-dollar ambulance branch was carefully selected to ensure the best coverage of ambulance services for the community. The new location has connections to local walking trails, waterways and nature reserves. It’s also close to other community facilities including local schools. It features 236m2 of @ghcommercial Concourse II dual bonded carpet, 180m2 of @forboflooringau Surestep and Safestep floor vinyl and 174m2 of @armstrongflooringaus Wallflex wall vinyl. The preparation works included 50mm engineered screed set downs using @mapeiaustralia Topcem Pronto and a full screed on the whole job using @mapeiaustralia Ultraplan. @bowdencorp were awesome to work with on this project and have delivered a fantastic 24 hour state of the art facility that services the needs of our amazing ambulance workers when they need it the most. #ambulancevictoria #gippsland #foster #bowdencorp #tommyhawkinsflooring #flooringinspo #vinyl #carpet #emergencyservices #ambulance #stategovernment #victoria

Volunteer firefighters respond to a range of incidents outside of fire. Today we responded to a rescue following a motorbike accident 🏍️ Although there was no requirement for a rescue, our crews assisted paramedics in transporting the patient to the ambulance 🚑 In order to best support our community a number of our members hold first aid and CPR qualifications so we can be ready to assist in any emergency 🚨⛑️
My mum has been very unwell and my family and I have been dealing with the public healthcare system over the past few weeks. We brought her home today and it’s the perfect time to acknowledge just how lucky we are in this country to have such amazing high quality free public healthcare. We rang an ambulance last week and Mum received kind, thoughtful and thorough care from the #ambulancevictoria paramedics who even made her a cup of tea because she was dehydrated. The team at #royalmelbournehospital provided wonderful care in the emergency department, the acute care ward and the Acute Care for the Elderly ward. Mum was amazed when we left the hospital this morning that there was no bill. Thank you to all of the #publichealthcare workers who do such a terrific job.

Bogong group Field Command Vehicle (which lives at the Beechworth Fire Station) was deployed to the Mt Beauty area last night to assist with incident management along the Tawonga Gap Road. Severe storms caused trees that were too big for chainsaws had fallen over the road & required heavy machinery to remove. Volunteers from many brigades were deployed including: Beechworth, Tawonga, Mt Beauty, Dederang, Falls Creek, SES along with members from Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene. Some campers were left inaccessible in the Mountain Creek Campground area. Falling trees also caused a motor vehicle accident in the area. Fortunately no injuries were reported.
