We caught up with Denise Beuke at Music in the Mountains, previously her gallery was just outside Howick. Denise has opened a new studio gallery called Art in the Attic, positioned with amazing mountain views, at Thokozisa Lifestyle Centre on the R600 - the crossroad stop that leads to numerous amazing Drakensberg destinations. This self-proclaimed 'nature freak' misses the KZN Midlands people who remain in her heart, and looks forward to attending ART in the Country for the third year running. As part of its Local Author Celebration, the Rappahannock County Library will feature Ruthie Windsor-Mann at an event Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Washington artist's works are on display at the Executive Mansion in Richmond, among other honors, and she is the author of two books: "A Painter's Musings" and "12 Months on 12 Acres." The Local Author Celebration events will include book sales and signings, refreshments and opportunities to find out more about the authors' "work(s), creative process and publishing journey."

The Virginia bluebells have arrived on this old road following Catawba Creek on our farm. They are only there 10-14 days but are quite spectacular, totally wild, and self propagating.
