10 years in and my job as a broadcast travel journalist still feels surreal. 👏🏻🇩🇪😎 I get to explore, ask questions, sometimes ask hard questions, discuss sustainable solutions in tourism with CEOs, write and edit, laugh and learn with fellow journalists from around the world, and sometimes even dress up in funky clothing at a networking event in a car museum in rural Germany. I feel honored to share little pieces of it all with you. PS: I recently read a quote that resonated: we marry our glass ceilings. Grateful every moment that Jonathan and I continue to grow in our careers, while simultaneously raising a toddler. A toddler who will grow up and never succumb to societal gender stereotypes. Because he saw his far and his mama equally able to chase rainbows.

Hydrangeas. They are a flower full of budding memories and they hold the hope of more to come.

Some photos I take for no apparent reason and they sit patiently waiting for me to see their meaning. I took this photo a few years ago and today I saw its meaning. When I first saw this abanonded shed, it looked tired and weather beaten. It sat at the bottom of a hillside and the back wall was forming part of that hill. It looked sad. But today I saw that yes, it is weather beaten, but it is far from tired. It is proud and strong because it is the care of nature. Perhaps the human element has abandoned this hut, but it is far from abandoned. It possibly has more purpose now than it ever had.

I often see giant dandelions on my wanderings, which I have learnt is a Salsify plant (or weed, depending on your view). What I don’t often see is the open flower before they go to seed and become these giant balls. Today I happened to come across an open flower and it really is quite the prettiest thing. I certainly don’t see them as a weed, and I have fallen a little bit in love with this lovely plant.
With the heavy rain we have had, these 2 were enjoying the tranquility and food provided by the flooding.
