#neuesausdempuppenzimmer mit der #tripledominodecke 🔻🔻🔻 „So ein Sofa ist so gemütlich!“ Der Miesepeter seufzt wohlig und macht sich auf der Couch aus aufgestapelten Quadraten der #tripledominoblanket mal so richtig lang! Er ist zufrieden… 🔻 Zufrieden? Der Miesepeter? „Dass ich das noch erleben durfte!“zitiert das Mimime einen Familienspruch und grinst. Auch die Mädels finden die improvisierten Sitzgelegenheiten aus den Strickquadraten gar nicht schlecht. Fast 100 Stück! Da hat Biene Uschi schon eine ganze Menge Fäden vernäht und Svantje und Alice haben fleißig gestrickt. 🔻 Nur Alice darf die weiße und ganz hellgelbe Wolle stricken . Ihre Finger sind immer so tadellos sauber. Svantje ist damit zufrieden. Sie findet die bunten Quadrate ohnehin viel schöner. 🔻 Das Mimime seufzt. So kann das leider nicht bleiben! Das Puppenzimmer ist jetzt schon voll und das sind bei weitem nicht alle Quadrate. Da muss noch wochenlang gestrickt werden. Außerdem - wenn das Wetter umschlägt, kommen die Bären garantiert wieder aus dem Wald und der kleine Gärtner aus dem Garten. Nein, nein! Im Puppenzimmer fehlt Platz! 🔻 „Ab jetzt wird ausgelegt!“ verkündet das Mimime. Heimlich hat es schon ein weißes Tischtuch ausgebreitet. Das Spiel kann beginnen! 🔻 Und es wird Wochen und Monate dauern. Vielleicht sogar ein Jahr! Das Auslegen der Quadrate wird die Puppenbande in jedem Fall lange beschäftigen. 🔻 „Och, menno!“ stöhnt der Miesepeter und schließt ganz schnell die Augen. Vielleicht lässt das Mimime ihn so in Ruhe. Aber da ertönt schon die kräftige Stimme des Mimimes . 🔻 „Runter vom Sofa!“ Als ob er ein Hund wäre… 🐕🦺 🔻 Endlich ist die Stimmung beim Miesepeter wie immer. Wie? Black and white photo of my current blanket project. Pattern is Look for Happiness by Fifty Four Ten Studio. Yarn is Bernat Softee Baby, color to be revealed. I love the simple but elegant design, and the reverse side is also quite nice. The yarn is soft and easy on my hands. The fabric made is very cozy and stretchy with a bit of horizontal contraction, because the stitch pattern is essentially ribbing. I rarely knit patterns twice, but if I make this again I will definitely swatch the main stitch pattern and not use my seed stitch border as my swatch when deciding on a stitch count. There is about 10% of horizontal contraction in the middle of the blanket compared to the seed stitch border. This is not a pattern problem - it is simply the combination of this particular yarn and stitch pattern by a knitter who didn’t swatch properly! #fiftyfourtenstudio #bernatbabysoftee #blanketknitting #swatchingisyourfriend

Ich habe ein paar Minireste verarbeitet, wie man rechts sieht, habe ich sogar den weißen Trennfaden zwischen den zwei Teilen eines Knäuels genutzt 😊. Ich freue mich! 🟪 Heute mal ein kleiner Beitrag zum Thema Gesundheit bei den Amischen. A wie Allergie! 🟪 In einem Artikel habe ich gelesen, dass in einer amerikanischen Untersuchung festgestellt wurde, dass amische Kinder im Vergleich zu anderen Kindern weniger Allergien haben. 🟪 Alles klar! Amische Kinder sind Landkinder. Da hätte ich das ohnehin angenommen. Das ist ursprünglich in unserer Gesellschaft nicht anders. 🟪 Verglichen hat man in der Studie dann amische Kinder mit denen der Hutterer, ebenfalls eine Religionsgemeinschaft, die ländlich, mit Landwirtschaft und in sozialer Isolation vom Rest der Bevölkerung lebt. 🟪 Die amischen Kinder hatten deutlich weniger Allergien bei ähnlicher Lebensweise. Ist das jetzt genetisch bedingt? Schließlich ist der Genpool bei Menschen, die in relativ geschlossenen Gruppen leben, auch relativ begrenzt. Logisch! 🟪 Letztlich kamen die Wissenschaftler zu dem Ergebnis, dass der Unterschied ausschließlich in der Lebensweise liegt. Die Amischen betreiben ihre Landwirtschaft äußerst konventionell, die Hutterer modern, fast industrialisiert. 🟪 Amische Frauen verbringen auch in der Schwangerschaft viel Zeit im Stall und ihre Kinder später ebenso. Dabei kommen sie mit dem ganzen Heer an Mikroben und allergieauslösenden Stoffen in Berührung. 🟪 Klingt alles sehr einleuchtend! Das Kind im entfernten Familienkreis, dass eine äußerst sagrotanlastige Kindheit hatte, war anfällig für alles… Unsere Dreckspatzen viel weniger. 🟪 Allergien kennen wir zwar trotzdem… Selbstverständlich können nicht alle Schwangeren im Kuhstall arbeiten, aber alle Kinder müssen im Freien und im Dreck spielen dürfen. How is it May already and how am I up to date with my high and low temperature blanket?! This is the April corner and we are seeing more green, finally! I'm knitting one garter ridge for both the high and the low temperature each day, and it takes around 30 minutes to knit each ridge. It's now getting a tad heavy, and we still have two thirds of the year left 😂 The geek in me is very excited to see which will be the most used colour at the end of the year, but there is one that is currently well in the lead and that is the Bottle green 💚 I've almost used 2 balls already and I've ordered another couple (@woolwarehouse will be getting plenty of random Stylecraft orders from me this year 😜) to keep on knitting! I really wasn't sure about committing to such an epic project, but I'm so glad I did. This is such a relaxing knit after a busy day and I love the mystery of not knowing how it will work up. Not too much progress on my monthly making. Met goals on my 2 week stitching rotations. 1- Beatrix Potter Sampler: goal was to complete 3 motifs and goal was met so a total of 939 stitches completed 2- Glow Up: I only had 3 little stitches on it when it was drawn. My goal was 500sts in 2 weeks, ended up completing 816sts. Total of 819sts. 3- next up to work on until 05/11 is, Klara Hansen. I decided to restart so not many stitches. I would like to get the alphabet done, we shall see. I also decided to start on a new full coverage, was enabled and I had been searching for one for my youngest. She was the only one I hadn't found a full coverage for. Pattern: Queen of Silk - 356 x 577, 88 colors, and 205,412 stitches total. Working on a 25 count easy grid. Not much knitting though, I fell behind on the twenty four birds mkal so I am still slugging along with that. I am however still on track with my temperature blanket. I am realizing that being a monogamous knitter is not bringing me joy at all. #Jahresdecke2024 Der April war bunt! 🥳 Meine Jahres-/Temperaturdecke ist wieder um 30 Reihen gewachsen, und endlich kam mehr Farbe ins Spiel. Es fehlen nur noch 2 Farbtöne, ein dunkles Rot für den Bereich 28 bis 32 Grad sowie Indigo für alles darüber. Aber dafür hat es jawirklich noch Zeit. Auf dem ersten Bild seht ihr Vorder- und Rückseite, auf dem zweiten die Veränderung von Januar bis jetzt. Das ist schon spannend. Unsere Kirschen, Pflaumen, Aprikosen ... alles futsch. Bei den Äpfeln wird sich noch zeigen, was übrig bleibt. Nur die Birnen haben es anscheinend ganz gut überstanden. #deckendienstag - in den kommenden Wochen habe ich wohl immer etwas beizusteuern 🫢… Die #flyingFoxtailBlanket wächst, der zweite Mustersatz ist auf der Zielgeraden. Mittlerweile habe ich mich richtig eingegroovet, was auch daran liegt, dass ich mir die Anleitung noch einmal selbst auf zwei großen Karteikarten aufgeschrieben habe. Im Allgemeinen sind englische Anleitungen ja präziser und knapper in Sachen Abkürzungen, aber mit meinen eigenen komme ich hier besser klar: Steht im Original zum Beispiel „(brk1, sl1yo) 7 times“, habe ich für mich „14x Patent re“ notiert. Maschenweise zählen finde ich einfacher. Aber das sehr Detaillierte hat natürlich auch Vorteile, gerade bei wenig bisherigen Patent- oder Briochebegegnungen (gilt für mich jetzt aber nicht so). Auch stelle ich fest, dass ich Patent schneller stricken kann als ein schnödes Bündchenmuster 😅. So bin ich mehr als optimistisch, dass es mit meinem Ziel „22. Juli“ auf jeden Fall klappt 😎💪🏻. This blanket has been my focus project for the last half of the month, it's also the perfect reading knitting. I just finished reading The Lost Bookshop and I can't stop talking about it or thinking about it, it was such a good read. This project was intended to become a baby blanket, but I realized it was going to be too heavy. I do love a striped blanket knitted on the bias, so am now making it big enough for an adult. It will be a lovely cover for early morning reading in the garden. In case you were wondering, there is such a thing as too many sock WIPs. How many sock WIPs is too many? Well, for me, it’s FIVE. Yes, I had five different pairs of socks on the needles. (Four of them are for other people.) Thankfully, I’ve since bound off two pairs and am almost done a third…but I needed a break from sock knitting in a major way. Only problem? I could not decide what I wanted to cast on next. So I gathered all my fingering weight leftovers and am entering my “scrappy project” era. First up is an #anthologythrow by @curioushandmade. I think this will be a long-term project - something I pull out whenever I need a break from other projects - and I love the idea of that. I made a Cozy Memories blanket a few years ago. The process took four years, and I ended up gifting it to my daughter, who sleeps with it every night. I loved that project, but I decided that I wanted something a little more portable this time around. I’m knitting four-patch squares, then adding a two round border in single crochet. Eventually, I’ll crochet these squares together to make a blanket. I’m hoping it has a lovely patchwork quilt look to it. I love knitting these Cozy Memories squares again! They are such a comforting knit, and I’ve missed working on them. . . .
