I can’t believe it’s been a full year since the start of the Mindful Practice Room! This is one of my favorite, most meaningful projects I’ve ever created. Classical musicians are intertwined with grind culture which is difficult to separate from without intentional effort. I wanted to create a space for musicians to unwind, unravel, and create with room to make mistakes. As creatives, we have to let ourselves make bad art before we can make good art. We have to be mindful of the process, let it be messy, and use our experience to guide the way forward. We have to be aware of our bodies and the way they interact with our instruments, leaving room for gentleness, balance, and the breath. We have to let our humanness come before achievement, and let our humanity influence our work. Come see for yourself how transformative it feels to practice your instrument in this space.
