Glenelg River 2024 - Vic Bream Classics wrap up. Dad and I finished in 22nd place out of 45 teams. Friday - a slow prefish in the bottom section of the river with only 3 decent fish boated in 5hrs saw us change ramps just after lunch and head up to Pritchards where we proceeded to fish down and up from the ramp and caught fish in both directions and generally saw a lot more signs of life and fish more willing to eat a lure - or so it seemed. A unanimous decision was made to launch at Pritchards for the tournament days and the plan was set to fish rock walls, overhanging trees and big logs/laydowns with a mixture of weedless plastics/crabs and mussels. Day 1 saw us with a bag relatively early and some small upgrades throughout the day but the unforgiving snags up in that section of the river meant that we ended up losing 5-6 fish to bust offs - and never landed that kicker fish or two that you need to be in with a shot. Day 2 the bite seemed to have slowed down and turned into a grind, catching more undersized fish and only getting our 5th legal at 12:45pm. No upgrades and 2 bust offs on day 2. All fish came on a variety of grub tail plastics from Daiwa, Rapala, Zman and Hurricane. Huge congrats to Stu and Barry on a hard fought win - even after everything that was thrown at them and to all the other place getters and the top 10! Late Night Bream / Bluegill Fish Fry What an amazing fishing outing with our Men's small group. Must have caught 30+ fish across all the guys. I volunteered to take home the bream. We had some good pan size ones but still felt like getting that fillet work in. Very happy with how these came out, 100% boneless and saved the bellies from each. White, juicy, tender meat with a tasty pepper and paprika dredge before butter pan fry. Served with left over saffron rice, black bean, louisiana hot and tuffle oil. Feedermasters at the wonderful ferry meadows today…peg 90 for the day. Hopeful i could be on some today. 42m line and that was it, a few different rods with different set ups. Ringers Coco for groundbait and the normal ferry bait tray…..10 big ones at the start with worm, maggot, pellet and dead reds. Decided to sit on 7min casts and see how everyone gets on, next door to my right had them after an hour and to my left also….my turn surely…..😅😅 decided if fish are around up my cast rate to 2mins….3rd cast small bream….continued this for some time adding more and more worm with every cast. I’ve had a great hour putting 6 fish in the net, wind has turned and it’s gone cold…..a few little chnages and I’ve found a few towards the end for 53lb 6oz and the section by default….surprisingly this was 5th overall so happy with that and how I worked the swim to make things happen. BRAID!😜 While we were on the bank with Tony Curd recently we spoke about using braid for bream fishing! Here are a few bitesize things that can help you get your set up right when using braided main lines! 🎣 SOFT RODS! 😍 Using a soft rod is important with braid, as there is no stretch in the line and hook pulls can be a problem with a stiffer set up. Tony used the Parabolix Pro 12ft feeder which was perfect for the job! THICKER BRAID! 😎 Lots of anglers like to use extremely thin braids but these can be problematic at times! Tony chose the Wychwood Agitator AX8 braid in 0.12mm which sinks quickly and casts like a dream. SHOCK LEADERS! 💪 If you're casting long distances then a shock leader attached to the braid with an Albright knot is the best option, a length of mono between 8-10lb with three to four turns on the reel when you cast is ideal and gives that little bit of a shock absorber when casting and playing fish. 🎣 #TeamMAP #MAPFishing #fishing #matchfishing #feeder #feederfishing #breamfishing #bream #coarsefishing #angling #fishingtrip #braid #MAP

Съездили на Весенний фидер 2024 в город Гродно, озеро Юбилейное. По корму решили мешать Icon competition и lake от @feeder_by. Изначально понимал, что скорее всего придётся ловить мелочь. На промере выбрал 3 дистанции: 28.5, 60 и 69 метров с практически одинаковой глубиной. Со старта на блюжнюю корм с варёной коноплёй, на дальние, немного мотыля и кастера. С ближней рыба отозвалась сразу, через 40 минут заходил на дальнюю, не увидев поклевки решил не упираться и собирать мелочь.По итогу вся рыба с 28.5 метров. По насадке приходилось часто подстраиваться под апетит рыбы, то чистый мотыль, то бутерброд с пинкой или опарышем. Всего поймал 95 рыб и вес 2730 (если не ошибаюсь)), что и позволило занять 1 строчку. Спасибо всем участникам, рад был всех видеть. Спасибо организаторам и всем спонсорам мероприятия.
