Κάναμε 2 συνεδρίες δίωρες κι άλλη μια πιο σύντομη ενδιάμεσα γιατί το δοντάκι είχε αρκετά μεγάλη βλάβη. Η Αριάδνη φοβόταν. Φοβόταν πολύ. Και πονούσε. Το καταλάβαινα κάθε φορά που έκλεινε σφιχτά τα ματάκια της ακίνητη και με τα χεράκια σταυρωμένα. Δεν ρώτησε -ούτε εκείνη ούτε ο πατέρας της που τη συνόδευε- πόση ώρα θα κάνουμε κι αν τελειώνουμε ή έχουμε πολύ ακόμη. Δεν κουνήθηκε, δεν είπε «κουράστηκα», δέχτηκε τον ελαστικό απομονωτήρα τις βελόνες και το ακτινογραφικό πλακίδιο που την πίεζε, διαχειριζόμενη εντυπωσιακά σιωπηλά τον φόβο της. Δεν με κοίταξε στραβά ούτε με επέπληξε που άργησα μισή ώρα σε ένα ραντεβού και ανέβαλα ένα άλλο τελευταία στιγμή γιατί με πρόδωσε η μέση μου και με ακινητοποίησε. Επικοινωνούσαμε -εκείνη με νοήματα, ήταν «μαζί μου» σε όλη τη διάρκεια, απόλαυσε μαζί μου τη μουσική στο ραδιόφωνο που παίζει πάντα @969rockfm . Όταν βγάλαμε τη φωτογραφία ενημερώσαμε τον πατέρα ότι δεν θα φαίνεται το προσωπάκι της κι εκείνος απάντησε, «Ας φαίνεται, δεν πειράζει, είναι τιμή μας» Αποκαταστήσαμε το δοντάκι της, δώσαμε οδηγίες κι έφυγε με ένα μεγάλο «ευχαριστώ» και Χαμόγελο στα χείλη της. ‼️ *Medical trauma trigger warning* ‼️ Having had the most awful 2 months of my entire life because of medical trauma specifically neglect, I am having to change my lounge, my bedroom, & my bathroom because they have become so triggering of my experience - feeling isolated, in excruciating pain, petrified, desperate, calling medical professionals for help & getting ridiculous advice for shortness of breath after major surgery, “I think you are overthinking it. Breathe in for 10 & breathe out for 10” & morphine for pain in my hips when I’d just come off fentanyl, oramorph & codeine! Are they mad? That’s just a sticking plaster approach & dangerous prescribing so many opioids! How are these people allowed to practise? Medical trauma is rife. And that is scary. Sadly, some people really are in the wrong jobs. They lack compassion, they are apathetic, they have become detached & sadly, there is a lot of narcissism amongst consultants & many lack the crucial social skills needed in the medical profession. For crying out loud, they are dealing with vulnerable people often facing some of the most difficult news & procedures in our lives. I’ve complained & I will take it further. Not just for me, but for every single person, who has been bullied, neglected, treated with indifference, not believed.
