The tale of the traveling caftan. Likely produced in the 1980s by Caribbean Club for their Sensual Silk collection this exquisite Mardi Gras inspired caftan feels like a dream. It traveled into @buffaloexchange in 2018 and was eventually purchased by @jessiinkley. In preparation of her move to Seattle, she brought it back in and I eventually purchased it. I wore it once to an event but the print and silhouette overwhelmed my small frame. Fast forward to earlier this spring when @lovebritti approached me with the clothing swap of a lifetime. In exchange for this gorgeous silk dress, I received a Jazz Fest tee from the year I was born!! Britti recently performed in the dress @t.r.e.e.nola fest. A benefit to promote earth education. A big part of Earth Education is sustainability in the fashion industry. English sparkling wine 🇬🇧🥂 Have you ever tried? Do you like it? I had a chance to taste 5 British traditional method sparkling wines and one Champagne (to compare) today. ✨ Overall quality was really high! Here are my favorites, photos in order… 1. Nyetimber 1086 prestige cuvé, vintage 2010. Stunningly developed, cream, fudge, mocha, white chocolate, butter, biscuit, rhubarb pie that’s covered with vanilla ice cream 😁 also some dried apple crisps. Very long, perfectly balanced. Outstanding. (179€ in Alko 😅). In its own league compared to the other wines in this tasting both in terms of quality and price… 2. Ridgeview Fitzrovia Rosé Brut. Red berries, sweetness on the nose, but dry on palate & high acidity. Delivers also toast although red fruit is on the lead. Persistent and creamy mousse, long and very gastronomical. Tough competitor for rosé champagne in this price category. (49,90€ in Alko) 3. Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2018. Elegant 100% Chardonnay. Lovely toast, whipped cream, freshly squeezed lemon and also grated lemon peel, slightly salty notes and minerality, hints of ginger in the aftertaste. Tied with Ridgeview, but more expensive so that’s why Ridgeview got the 2nd place. (63,48€ in Alko). 4. A. Bergere Origine Champagne Brut NV. Green apple, white flowers, fresh lemon, white currant, green gooseberry. Soft mousse, fresh high acidity med+ finish. (Alko 44,98€) 5. Chapel Down Brut NV. Red apple, yellow plum, lemon, slight coffee, some marzipan, some toast. Med+ finish. Mousse felt bit aggressive and then faded away quickly. (43,93€) 6. Rathfinny Blanc de Noirs Brut 2018. Apple and apple skin, some bread, at the end autumn leaves and cranberry 👀. High acidity carries the wine, mousse is mouth filling but fades away bit too quickly. Somehow a tad too rustic... (Alko 52,90€) It was really interesting to taste all these wines. It’s been a year since I have had as many English wines, and at that time they were almost all still. Werbung, selbst gekauft und bezahlt Hier kommt eine kurze Buchrezension von mir. Inzwischen ist lesen für mich so etwas wie ein Hobby geworden und daher wird es das ein oder andere Buch geben, was ich dir vorstellen möchte. Ich lese zwar nicht so viele Bücher wie andere hier, das würde ich zeitlich auch nicht schaffen, aber ich sag immer "jeder in seinem eigenen Tempo ". Gelesen habe ich: Das College "in der Nacht kommt der Tod " von Ruth Ware. Zugeordnet ist dieses Buch dem Genre Thriller. Ok, da kann man geteilter Meinung sein. Irgendwie verstehe ich unter Thriller doch leicht was anderes, aber so hat jeder seine eigene Meinung. Kurzbeschreibung: Hannah hat vor 10 Jahren ihre Collegefreundin April tot im Zimmer in Oxford aufgefunden. Da sie eine Person identifiziert hat, die kurz vorher das Gebäude verlassen hat, wurde dieser auch verhaftet und verurteilt, obwohl dieser immer seine Unschuld beteuert hat. Jetzt 10 Jahre später, Hannah ist zwischenzeitig mit Will einem Collegefreund aus Oxford verheiratet und lebt in Edinburgh stirbt der "Mörder" im Gefängnis. Eigentlich sollte damit diese schlimme Erfahrung von vor 10 Jahren zu Ende sein. Da sich aber neue Beweise ergeben haben und Hannah sich immer mehr die Frage stellt, ob ihre Aussage richtig war oder doch ein Justizirrtum, versucht sie die Wahrheit herauszufinden. Und da stellt sich für Hannah auch eine wichtige Frage: kann ihr Mann Will der Mörder sein? Obwohl ich Zeitsprünge in Büchern nicht so gerne mag, ist dieses davor und danach (10 Jahre nach dem Mord) einleuchtend, um die Zusammenhänge/das Leben von April und ihrer Clique nachvollziehen zu können. Den eines wird schnell klar nicht alles was auf den ersten Blick perfekt ist, ist es auch. Das Buch ist spannend, verständlich und flüssig geschrieben. Der Anfang war für mich etwas langatmig, aber um die Zusammenhänge nachvollziehen zu können, war es ok.
