Cache is a temporary storage layer that keeps frequently accessed data in memory, allowing websites to serve information much faster by bypassing the slower database for those requests. This improves performance and reduces database workload. Caching is great, but there are a few things to keep in mind: - Cache the right stuff: Focus on data that's frequently read but rarely changed. Cached data is stored in volatile memory, so it's not suitable for persisting important data. - Set expiration times: Cached data can get stale over time. Set expiration times to ensure you're serving fresh information. - Maintain consistency: Since the database and cache are separate, updates can cause inconsistencies. There are strategies to address this, but it's an important consideration. - Cache eviction policy: When the cache gets full, it needs to make room. week is going strong 💪🏼 - Work has been pretty busy the last few days. I have been focused in on the new project and getting after it. Made a solid amount of progress which puts it at a good stopping point here as I am taking the next couple of days off. I am heading out to another city to hangout with friends and relax a bit. gearing up for a new week 📝 - The past week went pretty well. Work included a lot of planning and diving into this new project. We’re taking a little bit of a different approach in certain workflows in order to help speed up and improve our project process with development and testing and feedback. I’m excited to see how some of these new workflows get going and what’s to come. Going to be a lot of fun working on this new project 🙌🏼 - I’m also taking a trip toward the end of the week. Super excited about it as I’ll get a little break from the keys and just get some time with friends. Earlier in the week I am planning to knock out as much as I can for both work and my own projects. Hey guys, whats up? . I worked for my job all day today and wrote automated tests. When I was done, I continued to work on a small Android app that I started a short time ago. I will also make a post to that app. True to the motto: if you post it you have to finish it. 🔥😃 . . Now to the question of emulator or a real smartphone! It is very important that you know how to use both methods and can handle them, both have advantages and disadvantages. I love how you can just have your laptop on your lap and run your app. But the important point I want to share is the following: I have often had problems with the emulator behaving differently in some problems than a real smartphone. So don't forget to play the latest version of your app on your phone every now and then. full force into a new week 🔥 - Started working on a new project at work today. Not quite sure fully yet how long it’ll take but going to spend a bit more time planning and putting pieces together before jumping into code. middle of the week and it’s been busy 📈 - Work has been a grind this week. We have been working on finalizing the last pieces of a project we are launching. There have been some last minute touch ups / fix ups which has pushed some things back a tad. This of course comes at a cost of targeted work vs universal work. It’s a learning process with understanding what you need to get done now and clean up later vs what you need to have solidified now how you would want it later which has a time cost. Pretty excited to see this project get out and continue iterating as I dive into a new project / feature this week / next week! 🧑🏼‍💻 - For this upcoming weekend, I am planning to get after some work on Habite still. Wasn’t able to too much last weekend and this weekend will also be busy but I’ll see how far I can get. Week 1 as an ML engineer (in the new job) 👩🏻‍💻 One thing I’ve found interesting is how onboarding is done here. As a consultant, I’ve always had the express route of onboarding: get up to speed quickly on the existing tech and define clearly what needs to be done. Most of the time, we weren’t integrated into the team and just did our own thing as defined in the contract 😅 Being onboarded as a consultant itself is also quite different as everything including teams change depending on client project 🤷🏻‍♀️ so being onboarded into the new fixed team now is a new experience for me. One thing the app and website teams do is that every task-area creates its own call with the 1-2 people joining that month. In that call we get introduced and then the experienced team members show us their daily work: what they do, their specialty etc 😊 Areas include: frontend, backend, middleware, design, Q&A, product owners etc 😊 and each call is planned for 60min to leave plenty of time to get to know each other as people too 🤯 So far I’ve only done 2/6 calls/meetings and am really thankful I get to see what our software developer do as well, since the data & ai team (mine) is comparatively small and it’s always good to know who has expertise in what area 👍🏻 It does seem quite time intensive for the experienced people though … 👀 Did you ever have a similar onboarding experience? Now I’m curious how everyone else is doing it 😅

quite a productive day! 🧑🏼‍💻 - After getting back into the swing of things at work, today was focused in on architecting and discussing a certain project we’re handling at work. I think we made some good progress going over it and breaking down a starting point. This one is a bit more complicated in terms of our data structure and how we want the FE and BE to communicate and use certain methods. These type of projects are definitely higher on my list of enjoyable since we get to take down some tech debt and also architect something that could be huge for us (a win if you will). I’m edcited to see how the next couple weeks go as we continue modeling and building out this project. 😄 - As for my own work, I am back home tonight and so I wanted to take some time to handle Notes in Habite v3. Just some data structure rework and then tying together loose ends there. It’s super close and I am getting more and more excited of launching this update. Also with having more knowledge since I first started I feel it being in a lot more structural sound place which is going to be huge to iterate on 🙌🏼 More to come this weekend! - Do you prefer architecting a project or being given requirements and just coding away?

Also if they don't want to do that people will see they're lifestyle as the perfect one. But why can't we just be who we are?! Nobody is able to do everything and everybody has the right to decide how he wants to live. If you always want to be the way that others want you to be you will fail sooner or later. Be YOU as much as you can! But we also have to ask ourselves: Accept we people if they are just themselves? But do we also take enough breaks from work? Our body also needs breaks. And there are two types of breaks that we need both. . 1⃣ We all should give our body enough exercise during the day, because it's unhealthy to sit the whole day. And also our eyes need a break from looking into the screen. It's the best for our body if we get up and look to somewhere more far away every 25-30 min. But that's something also I need to do much more. 😅 . 2⃣ Our body is not made to work 24/7. So it's also important to take days off. Days where you just do something different than your work. These days there are so much burn outs because it gets harder and harder to take some time off from work. But in my opinion our body is more important then to have a lot of money. . I want you to think about your daily life. Do you give your body the regeneration that it needs. In my opinion it's worth it to take some time off because it makes you more effective again and you will thank yourself later. . . Stay #devinitelyhealthy and listen to your body!
