Segovia Walls were built between 11th and 12th centuries as defensive barriers by the Kingdoms of Castile and Leon which would become the Kingdom of Spain later. Along the walls, there were several viewpoints that provided stunning views of the Old City and the Clamores Valley. Also, there were a few city gates which served as entry points to the Historic Centre and we managed to identify two of them - Puerta de San Andres and Puerta de San Cebrian. Within the Old City, there were several city plazas which allowed us to soak ourselves in the ambiance of Segovia past with the well-preserved facades of the Old City. Fim de semana tranquilo, na pequena cidade de Segóvia, situada na província de Castilla y León. As suas ruas estreitas são ricas em história, mistérios e lendas. Na sua gastronomia predomina, o cordeiro, o leitão assado, o caldo castellano, judiones de la granja, trutas pescadas no rio local e de sobremesa o tradicional bolo "Ponche Segoviano". Começei por visitar o Alcácer, um castelo que em tempos era um dos preferidos pelos de reis de Castela. A arquitetura gótica com traços romântica e a sua prefeita localização geografia, no cima do penhasco, entre o rio e a serra, com vista para cidade. Depois, a elegante eclesiástica Catedral de N. S. De Assunção, também de estilo gótico, onde no seu interior alberga inúmeras obras sacras. E por fim é claro, não poderia deixar de falar da soberba construção romana, o Aqueduto. Símbolo e carta postal da cidade, reconhecido como património mundial da unesco. Conta a lenda: que em tempos uma pastora cansada de subir à serra Guadarrama para buscar água, fez um pacto com o diabo. Entregaria a sua alma, se este fizesse com que a água chegasse a sua casa antes do galo cantar. Arrependida, passou noite a rezar, pelo trato que tivera feito, e misteriosamente o último pedaço de pedra não foi a tempo que ser colocado pelo chifrudo, salvando-se assim do pecado. É claro que isto é uma lenda! Mas o quanto pobre seria uma terra se não tivesse as suas histórias?
