Happy weekend! I have some new followers here so I thought I'd take the time to introduce myself! Hi! I'm Rebecca 😊 Once upon a time I had a dream of being a photographer and owning my own portrait studio. My husband and I would brainstorm about it on long car drives and at that time, it felt pretty unrealistic. Something that *other* people could do, but not me. I had a degree in engineering (something I worked hard for) and was a brand new mom, so starting a photography business felt like a REAL stretch, at best. It sounds a bit dramatic to say, but this little dream of mine would keep me up at night - I'd lay in bed with thoughts swirling, sometimes I would even wake my husband up just to tell someone and get the ideas out of my head. (Sorry Steve!) Needless to say, I am now quite literally living the dream! This work brings me so much fulfillment and mixes together all of the things that bring me so much joy. I have met the nicest families with the cutest little ones, and I get to be creative everyday. I have formed friendships right here on Instagram with other creative entrepreneurs, many of whom are mothers like me living out their own creative dreams. My portrait studio in downtown West Chester, PA is my happy place, and I feel like the luckiest person ever that this is my job. Thank you for following along with me here! My daughter is turning 12 next week. I have taken her a photo a million times since the day she was born, but around her birthday we go to the studio for portraits to mark each year. Taking the time to do so has not only resulted in a collection of images, but also a beautiful collection of memories. If you are a parent of multiple children, you know that the energy is very different when you spend time with each child one on one. It fills their buckets, and strengthens your bond, even if it's just a few minutes at a time. My portrait sessions are intentionally priced per child, as my focus will always be on celebrating each child as a unique individual. I highly recommend booking portrait sessions for each child around their birthday each year. Make a day of it together, just the two of you. Buy them something special to wear, take them out for lunch or ice cream afterward. I promise, you will never regret it! 🖤

What is happening around them is unimportant, and that allows you to focus on their expression, personality, and mood. I will never get tired of photographing children in this way, of finding the uniqueness in each little person, and shining a light on that. I’m spending a good chunk of this week photographing the Client Closet with all of the beautiful new things I’ve added to it this winter. One of the things I always take into consideration when I am styling families is the location where their session will take place. For beautiful lush, green gardens like this, I either like to stick with white or ivory (or a bigger floral print!) as lots of green and blue can make it hard for the most important part of the session to stand out: your family! I'm catching up on some editing tonight and this image jumped out at me as I scrolled through their gallery - I love how you can tell on mom's face how much she adores her little girl, and how happy they both are together! Sharing a spring mini session with you featuring one of my favorite families who I have been with for years (since this little pear’s pregnancy announcement session with Mom and Dad to be! 🤩) they have since welcomed their second little pear to the world and now we’re planning his 6 month and 1 year milestone sessions 🥹 how do these littles grow so quickly!?! I absolutely love working with these beautiful humans and I loved this session! Sometimes at sessions we have to match the little pears energy and sometimes they have no interest in photos and we have to be goofy and go with the flow to make them want to get involved in the session - this was one of those sessions that required extra play and goofyness and Dad delivered while Mom was waiting to jump in when it was time! I’m back home in PA after being in NY shooting this week and I spent the day pulling teasers for my newborn and maternity session and organizing my studio minis. I also set up my official office finally and I’m so excited to really get organized and settled in there! I’ve been working out of an empty room since we moved in due to not being able to plug my computer into the old electric in the original part of the house but we’re updated and in business finally! I met Diana + Jordan this week for their maternity session at Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay and everything was just perfect! It's been 4 years since I "niched down" to studio photography, and these adorable gals were photographed shortly after. Their portraits are still some of my favorite images I have taken - I love them just as much now as I did when I first took them, and I know their mama does too! That is the beauty of working in a timeless studio style- the results are so classic and yet still modern and fun. Good-morning Instagram! Just me so excited to be showing up 2 days in a row on IG, I’m finally feeling organized in the new house AND we met our neighbors in PA this past weekend who are living the farm life of my dreams and I’m getting ready to head back to NY next week to see some of my favorite clients and meet a few new ones too 😍! Life is good! I have been wanting to share this in-home newborn session from over a year ago 😂 of a fellow photographer who I’m lucky enough to also call a friend - @nicolecaradonna ! They welcomed their third little pear into the world and I was so excited to document their new family of 5! I absolutely loved the nursery with the gallery wall and their perfect curated neutral attire but the best part of photographing this family was getting to capture the genuine love between them! The kids adore each other and Mom and Dad love their babies so much! The hugs, the joy filled laughs and even the quiet moments were such a joy to witness and capture! I’m sure there are hectic stressful times in their daily life as there are with every family, but being able to stop time and capture these sweet moments as they celebrated welcoming this little pear to the family is the best part of my job!
