My college friend Becky and her sweet husband Julius found out that Julius had leukemia mere weeks before baby boy Lincoln was born. Lincoln had only days home with his daddy before Julius was admitted to start chemo. Itâs been a very bumpy and difficult ride, filled with complications. We were all hoping Julius would be back home for Lincolnâs newborn session, but heâs still in an inpatient rehab center, so Becky opted to capture this season of life as it is most of the time - just the two of them - before Lincoln got too big. But hopefully Daddy will get to come home soon and weâll get to do a new round of photos of them as three đ Iâll be linking to their familyâs gofundme in my stories if you feel so inclined - the funds are covering valet parking so that Becky and Lincoln can frequently visit Julius, a postpartum doula, and other miscellaneous expenses that come alongside intensive treatment. I know youâve seen the permit changes here on my feed (I shared some info about it a few weeks ago) and while sessions will be allowed going forward, there is a hard stop on them for a bit starting in September, and then a permit fee going into effect next year. A stunning maternity session at the lake with Jenna. A lot of people ask when the best time to get maternity photos done. I say usually between 30-34 weeks. Early enough that youâre not uncomfortable and late enough that your bump can really shine! Funny story- one of the first maternity photos I ever took was for a friend and she ended up having her baby early .. just a couple days after our session đą we couldnât believe it! I can say that probably wonât happen with most maternity shoots but she was so glad we were able to capture that time in her life. Before she knew it, it was over and her baby was here! And I know Iâll always remember my own maternity sessions, as well. Happy Monday! The start of another week! I used to dread Mondays and got really bad Sunday scaries. But a couple years ago we decided to do special things on Mondays so we actually look forward to them instead and itâs become a fun tradition. Some Mondays Iâll walk to my favorite coffee shop, or we will get our favorite take out for dinner, or make ice cream sundaes for dessert. We do things on Mondays that we used to reserve for Fridays because Friday is already special! So itâs our little life hack to make Mondays a little more magical.
