It takes me time to process all the big things that happen in my life. Though I can be impulsive, most often, you'll find me pensive. I don't jump until I'm sure. After the transitions of last year - shooting in 4 countries and having personal breakthroughs that completely rewrote my code - I needed an entire winter's worth of slowness to process, explore, and rewire. To understand that I'm the only one in my way. That there's an entire world within a world inside of myself that's yet to be explored. I won't keep hiding from her. I want everything I do to be so deeply felt that it has an undeniable magnetism. A depth that can only come from wanting more than what you've been led to believe you are capable of. I know you’ve seen the permit changes here on my feed (I shared some info about it a few weeks ago) and while sessions will be allowed going forward, there is a hard stop on them for a bit starting in September, and then a permit fee going into effect next year. A stunning maternity session at the lake with Jenna. A lot of people ask when the best time to get maternity photos done. I say usually between 30-34 weeks. Early enough that you’re not uncomfortable and late enough that your bump can really shine! Funny story- one of the first maternity photos I ever took was for a friend and she ended up having her baby early .. just a couple days after our session 😱 we couldn’t believe it! I can say that probably won’t happen with most maternity shoots but she was so glad we were able to capture that time in her life. Before she knew it, it was over and her baby was here! And I know I’ll always remember my own maternity sessions, as well. Happy Monday! The start of another week! I used to dread Mondays and got really bad Sunday scaries. But a couple years ago we decided to do special things on Mondays so we actually look forward to them instead and it’s become a fun tradition. Some Mondays I’ll walk to my favorite coffee shop, or we will get our favorite take out for dinner, or make ice cream sundaes for dessert. We do things on Mondays that we used to reserve for Fridays because Friday is already special! So it’s our little life hack to make Mondays a little more magical. Especially THIS Monday because the sun is shining, we have plans to order pizza and eat on our patio, and we’re going to celebrate my husband’s birthday! I have the best job spending time with families that have so much love and joy to give. Between maternity photos and the excitement of a new chapter, to newborn photos soaking in the love of your new baby, and family sessions just hanging out with your favorite people. But it was extra special to witness my friend of 30 years become a mom and be so amazingly good at it. Court and I met when we were 2? 3? years old because our backyards connected. We’ve been through so many milestones and big changes together. It’s crazy to think we now have everything we dreamed about when we were little girls.
