💐 After all that rain and sunshine, everything in the park has started blooming like crazy! The Crab Apple trees are a favorite in our group. The flowers are so gorgeous and SO fragrant. The children have loved sticking their noses into the flowers and laughing when they see each other covered in the pollen! We like to think we are pollinators of the park as well!

'노동절'을 앞두고 괜스레 떠오르는, 한 단골 작은손의 말이 있어 살포시 공유합니다. 그 작은손은 티티섬 모야에서 2만 분 가까운 시간을 작업하며, 학교가 끝나면 루틴처럼 작업실에 들러 만들기를 했었는데요. 큰 작업을 앞두고 작은손이 했던 혼잣말은 이랬습니다. 🌎 Yesterday we celebrated Earth Day! We talked about how we can take care of our planet- some ideas were- drive less, recycle & compost, clean up trash, plant pollinator gardens, and more! We even created a "Recipe for a Healthy Planet," and painted it into a sign to hang in the park fieldhouse! 🌎 We're also running an Earth Week fundraiser! #세계예술의날 매년 4월 15일은 국제조형예술협회가 선포한 '세계 예술의 날(World Art Day)'입니다. 이탈리아를 대표하는 예술가 레오나르도 다 빈치의 생일이기도 해요. 🎨화가이자 조각가로 널리 알려진 다 빈치는 매우 창의적이고 다재다능해서 평생 수십 가지에 달하는 직업을 가진 것으로도 유명해요. 발명가, 건축가, 과학자, 음악가, 공학자, 외교관, 문학가, 해부학자, 지질학자, 천문학자, 식물학자, 역사가, 지리학자, 도시계획가, 집필가, 기술자, 요리사, 수학자, 의사... 검객(!)까지. 한 사람이면서 동시에 여러 사람의 삶을 살았던 다 빈치처럼, 일상의 작업실 모야에도 매일매일 바뀌는 꿈을 현실로 살아내는 어린이들이 있습니다. - 🌳라이브러리 티티섬 어린이작업실 모야는 3월 말부터 4월 초까지 <종이팝업>이라는 공동 작업 콘텐츠를 진행했습니다. 모야와 인접한 'B' 서가에서 숲을 배경으로 한 팝업 북을 골라와 살펴보면서 숲과 관련한 오브제를 각자 종이에 색연필로 그려 커다란 종이 위에 입체적으로 표현하는 작업이었어요. 처음엔 나무들만 있던 숲에 열매를 따먹는 여우가 생기더니, 여우가 목을 축이며 쉬어가는 우물이 생겼어요. 우물 위에 물고기가 떠다니게 되고, 하늘에는 새가 날고, 숲은 공원이 되어 지나가는 사람을 불러왔어요. 사람의 방문에 이어 외계인의 침공이, 나무의 죽음이 이어서 이야기로 펼쳐졌어요. 펼쳐진 이야기를 보고, 한 작은손은 그 날 만든 탱크를 즉석 해서 <종이팝업> 위에 전시했어요. 📗모야의 작은손들과 (영)감자*들이 따로, 또 같이 작업한 <종이팝업>의 완성된 모습은, 레퍼런스로 비치한 팝업 북(<나무늘보가 사는 숲에서>)이 전혀 생각나지 않을 만큼 다채로운 상상력과 이야기로 채워지게 되었답니다. 😮그런데... <종이팝업>은 여기서 끝이 아닙니다. 티티섬 모야 작은손들의 공동 작업의 결과물은 또 다른 공동 창작을 위한 과정 물로 변신할 예정! 어떤 모습으로 변신할지, 이다음에 올라올 이야기를 확인해 주세요 :) - 🥔(영)감자* 티티섬 각 공간에서 (이)용자의 경험을 확장하는 것을 도우며 영감을 제공하는 사람. 🧤어린이의 작업 [새] 마음으로 -2. "재료" 편 "모야 너무 재밌다" 말하는 작은손들에게 모야가 좋은 이유를 물으면 어김없이 듣게 되는 말이 있어요. "모야에는 재료가 많아요. 집에 없는 것도 많아요." 커리큘럼이나 정해진 주제가 없는 모야에는 백 가지가 넘는 재료들과 그걸 바꾸는 도구들이 있어, 작은손들이 상상하고 그린 세계는 곧잘 눈앞의 현실로 펼쳐지는데요. - 재료를 통해 많은 영감을 받는 작은손들은 새 재료를 맨 처음 알아보고 가장 먼저 사용해 보는 사람이 되곤 합니다. ✏️ 3월의 새 재료였던 '원형 스폰지 막대'는 그렇게 연필이 되었고, '대왕연필'이 되었어요. 그런가 하면, 익숙한 재료를 낯설게 사용해 본 작은손도 있어요. 🏒 종이와 코팅지로 스퀴지 작업을 자주 한 어느 작은손은 이번에는 종이를 바탕 면으로 활용해서 아이스하키 경기장을 만들었어요. 코팅된 종이가 매끌매끌한 것을 파악하고 자석을 굴려보더니 하키를 만들었어요. 자석으로 하키공을, 이쑤시개와 면봉과 솔방울로 하키채를 만들고, 점수판과 돌림판까지 만들었는데, 점수판에는 스프링을 달아 숫자패드를 넘길 수 있도록 했고, 돌림판의 눈금까지 만들어 섬세하게 표현했어요. 커플 팀, 솔로 팀, 모태솔로 팀으로 나누어 팀마다 하키채를 달리 표현한 작은손은, 자신은 모태솔로라 모태솔로용 하키채만 사용할 수 있다고 말하기도 했답니다. :D 🌱 또 한 작은손은, 햇빛이 좋은 날 시아노타입(청사진)으로 자신이 좋아하는 식물을 영원히 보관할 수 있게 되었어요. - 봄과 겨울이 공존하는 3월 지나 다가오는 4월도 익숙한 재료와 낯선 재료의 부딪힘이 즐거운 모야, 자유로운 재배치와 엉뚱한 상상이 얼마든지 가능한 모야에서 만나요! 언제나처럼, 새롭게 :) #티티섬모야 #모야 #어린이작업실 #어린이작업실모야 #작은손의모험 #티티섬 #라이브러리티티섬 #도서관속작업실 #팅커링 #어린이작업 #어린이작가 #어린이작업 #도서문화재단씨앗 #moya #makerspace #makerspaceforkids #ttsome #library #childrenswork #새학기 #3월

Our Research Centre is led by our Research Director Dr Sarah Holmes Sarah has been involved in ministry amongst children and families for over 20 years, and has a passion to find innovative and effective ways to equip children to get closer to Jesus. After completing a Geography degree at Liverpool University (with the aim of being a weather girl or earthquake predictor!), she worked as a church-based children's worker on the Wirral, and then as a Children and Family Pastor in Altrincham, Cheshire. Alongside this work, she really enjoyed studying at Cliff College: First to gain a Level 5 Diploma in Children's Evangelism and Nurture, and then an MA in Evangelism Studies. She then took some time out of this work to be a stay-at-home mum, but in the midst of this season completed a PhD exploring the role of family in children's faith journeys. Following this, she began teaching Early Childhood Studies at Liverpool Hope University, and researching the topic of children's faith and spirituality. Eight years ago, I asked my class to complete sentences that started with 'I am', 'I feel', 'I wonder', and so on. They did so (with very little input from me), and I loved their responses so much that I put them together into a poem. Right in the feels, guys. Right in the feels. Every time this pops up in my memories on FB, I share it. It's still one of my favourite pieces I've ever produced with a class. 🧤어린이의 작업 [새] 마음으로 -1. “동료” 편 "진짜 새해는 3월부터"라는 말이 부썩 들리는 요즘, 새 학기를 맞은 작은손들의 방문으로 티티섬 모야도 들썩들썩 하는 중! 새로운 동료를 만나는 즐거움은 모야의 묘미 중 하나라고 할 수 있을 만큼 나이도, 사는 곳도, 학교도, 좋아하는 것도 제각기 다른 작은손들은 모야에 모여 작업을 하며 특별한 우정을 쌓기도 합니다. 새로운 동료와 우연치 않게 공동 작업을 하다가 새로운 시도를, 새로운 마주침을 경험하기도 해요. 과학을 좋아하는 두 작은손의 만남도 그렇게 우연한 마주침을 발명했어요. - ⌨️ 못 쓰게 된 무선키보드를 분해해 재료로 쓰고 싶은 한 작은손의 호기심으로부터 출발한 작업은, 또 다른 과학 덕후 작은손과 만나 공동 작업이 되었고, 어느 새 판이 커졌어요. ⚙️ 힘을 합쳐 키캡을 모두 뜯어내고 나자 그 안이 더욱 궁금해진 작은손들. 그 안에 든 부품으로 무엇을 만들 수 있을지 상의하면서 생각지도 못한 아이디어가 마구 나왔어요. 🪚 전기들이 사는 "'작은 마을' 만들기”를 하기로 마음을 모은 작은손들. 🤝 그때부터 부품 구출 작전이 시작되었어요. 꺼내는 과정에서 부품이 상하지 않도록 하려다 철판을 자르게 된 작은손들의 주위로 또 다른 작은손들이 하나둘 모여들고, 누가 먼저랄 것 없이 돕기 시작했어요. 🙌 두꺼운 철판을 톱으로 재단하는 실험은 분명 낯설고, 오래 걸리기도 했지만 서로의 손을 보태니 가능한 일이 되었어요. #티티섬모야 #모야 #어린이작업실 #어린이작업실모야 #작은손의모험 #티티섬 #라이브러리티티섬 #도서관속작업실 #팅커링 #어린이작업 #어린이작가 #어린이작업 #도서문화재단씨앗 #moya #makerspace #makerspaceforkids #ttsome #library #childrenswork #새학기 #3월 #새친구

Our sincere thanks to Jennie from Fluffy Nation for the wonderful donations to support our work with children. The sensory equipment really helps those children with neurodiverse conditions to feel more able to explore their emotions and how they have been affected by domestic abuse.
