Early History of Manheim Continued. In 1836 Rapho Township (of which Manheim Borough formed a part at that time) adopted the Free School System, and the schools of the Borough, three in number, were controlled by six trustees acting in conjunction with the School Board of the Township. Manheim’s three one room schools. The upper school was located at the head end of North Prussian (Main) Street in the area where a large brick farmhouse is located today. The central school was located at 20 North Charlotte Street, on the lot of the 1860 engine house location. The lower school was located at what is today 21 West Ferdinand Street. Photo herewith: Manheim Borough School built in 1868 on the southeast corner of East High and South Hay Alley. The building housed all grades. In 1881 talk began about widening Hay Alley to a street and open building lots. Hay Alley would become Hazel Street. Photo Circa 1880. Over the years and after two expansions to the east end of the building, it became obsolete and too small to house all the grades. So this is always a tough subject as there is always lots of arguments for and against dummies but I believe if they are used in the right way they can definitely be a bonus to your babies sleep journey Only use them for sleeping or trying to get the baby through to a next feed They can be used to help a baby to link their sleep cycles Easier to get rid of when a baby is older than a thumb or finger (trust me trying to hide a thumb to stop the child sucking is a lot trickier than hiding a dummy! 😂) A dummy can become a bit of a crutch to a child and can restrict speech if they have them all the time but if you are sensible and only use a dummy when it is needed then this problem or habit won’t happen Happy to answer any questions about dummies my inbox is always open xx
